When I saw Lou Reed there back in April, they were definitely more lax about letting people in, and also about liquor (ie they didn't make you stay upstairs if you wanted a beer).

Their security sucks. They make you empty all your pockets and then pat you down. If they can't tell what's in your pockets from feeling them, they shouldn't be working a door. Plus they have some weird, arbitrary rules about what constitutes a "professional" camera.
