How are you doing?! Wow, that's nice, won't that show be 21+ though? I would love to visit you on this occasion, but I can't promise anything exact just that we will meet!

I don't think we're talking about anything wrong that we should conceal, haha. Let the world know about it all, haha. Regarding the letter, I completely understand what you mean. It's not rambling, it's quite philosophical, haha. A letter always arrives at its destination, that is, sometimes letters are too precious to send them to someone, who might miss their importance. So by keeping an unsend letters you add a lot more meaning to them. By not sending them, you do send them to a virtual point of reference, which still relieves you. Now there are ramblings! Haha. And I would love to get your letter actually!

Ah, shucks, I miss you too. How are you fairing back there? Hope those three weeks will end as fast as possible for you. Sleep a lot to skip a lot of time, haha.

Haha, funny because I recently started appreciating Secret South a lot more. But I still think Sackcloth 'n' Ashes is better. It has the best use of slide guitar I ever heard. Sorry Blixa, haha. Also, Sackcloth sounds a lot more desperate, not sure how to put it. Strong Man always gives me shivers.

    What Dostoyevsky have you read?

Well I am certainly not deliberately pretentious, just that my interests tend to imply pretentiousness. I've not really heard anything from the Bad Seeds/Birthday Party gang other than Einsturzende Neubauten, Grinderman and The Boys Next Door... But all of Rowland S Howard's other stuff take up a whole lot of room on my Last.fm recommendations... Alongside perhaps more obvious stuff like "Nick Cave", "Nick Cave & Warren Ellis", "Mick Harvey" "Blixa Bargeld"... etc. One day I'll get through it all... I heard These Immortal Souls cover of "Open Up And Bleed" a while ago, but I didn't really like the arrangement... Probably because I love the original so much...

My mum and brother read those books, but I was too busy studying at the time and now I only read pretentious stuff like Dostoyevsky and philosophy books... Is Rowland S. Howard's solo stuff/These Immortal Souls any good?

What'd you name the dog in the end? I'd start a conversation talking about music and stuff, but a lot of people don't dig that for some reason... It goes without saying that you have a fantastic taste in music!

Wow, thanks. Now I'm really keen on hearing Golden Lights. I should generally listen more to them. An old friend of mine sent me a couple The Smiths songs a few years ago, one of them was This Charming Man and it absolutely captivated me. Such a uplifting song and yet so nostalgic. That was my first confrontation with The Smiths (I didn't even know my mother was a fan for years). I agree about TQID, it's brilliant. I fell in love with this little tune "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side", the lyrics are so simple and honest, haha, Morrissey truly makes you want to sing along. I also agree that their style of upbeat music and emotional sad lyrics is what really stands out, and most importantly, it works very well, even has a much stronger emotional impact. Finally, don't feel sorry, such posts are pure pleasure. :)

Yeah, I dropped last.fm last year, because I was in a sort of a musical crisis. I felt that numbers started to influence my listening habits too much. So I stopped using it and recaptured what I love about music. Now it doesn't influence me that much (so far, started using it again last October). What I still hate is correct tagging, haha. Sure, I will gladly add you (then we will be able to spam each other on two fronts :D). You can hear the snips here http://thirdmanrecords.com/. Seriously it's just Beck and Jack messing around in the studio (and it has country all over it). It sounds like Leonard Cohen is singing Blue Randy, haha. That's what I love about it! I'm not sure if this single is part of album material, but it's good that at least a possible upcoming album was mentioned in the official statement. One can only hope. By the way, I would gladly hear what you have to share about The Smiths. ;)

Second post (damn symbol limitation): I also quite enjoyed Blunderbuss. Especially the country parts of course, haha. Never been a huge The White Stripes fan but I always liked how they basically played traditional music: blues, country. Jack White is a great producer, his records sound so raw, no slickness or anything, no sir! Blunderbuss will require a closer examination.

I was just partly jesting, but I always highly hoped I was not annoying you. Glad we share the same feelings regarding talking to each other. I really like talking to you too! :) I would probably drop last.fm again, if it wasn't for our discussions. I have a Smiths nut in my family, haha. It's my mother. She's been a fan since the early days. I can't say I'm a fan but I really love a few songs and generally I like listening to their albums. Johnny Marr is an amazing guitarist (btw, he worked on Milk & Honey with Beck). I also have "Ringleader of the Tormentors" by Morrissey in my collection. I love that album. That new Third Man Beck single has to be sort of a joke. The liner notes credit Jack White with "punk vocals" and Randy Blau with "laser tag". Ridiculous good ol' Beck. :D The song snips sound like they were just messing in the studio for fun. And I love it, haha!

From now on to reduce the risk of annoying people I try to share my thoughts with people who are interested in them. :) Am I annoying you THAT much, haha? How did the Morrissey gig go? I can't believe you missed Beck, but then again, I can't blame you, Morrissey is nifty too.
