In my philosophy, music is meant to be enjoyed and concentrated to, just like any other drug. It's meant to be experienced on a good audio reproduction system. It's not just some background noise coming from the radio or cheap ipod earphones while jogging. Therefore, music must be well mastered and produced to be enjoyable. Sadly, most of today's music is anything but that. I am a giant, pretentious cunt.

Check out STAR ARK for some Riverside - Tool - Anathema insipred music. All music is available for free download from http://starark.bandcamp.com Here is a sample, you can stream the full song in last fm. Write sorry for the spam but I think this might be right up your alley, plus it's mastered old school, you can turn it up loud and it just sounds better - Neil

You didn't even come close to answering his question. While the loudness war is definitely a problem, it really doesn't serve as explanation for registering for a web-site only to ignore pretty much all of its features. You can complain about bad production anywhere.

Ahh, I've been expecting this question. Why should anybody accept this butchering of music and be quiet? Bad production deserves to be shouted with reproach. But also, I commend those records that have been mastered properly.

You're right. Royksopp and Chemical Bros were disappointing. It's nice to hear some of the electronic were so used to from the early 00's and 90's.

I read your comment on the One-Armed Bandit album and I fully agree. How can it be that such an a-class band like JAGA on an a-class label like NinjaTune is joining the loudness war? I had the same experience with The Herbaliser's Take London which I have bought on Vinyl because of that.
