So I finally got to see Okkervil again...first time in like three years. Will finally played So Come Back. It's always been my favorite song of theirs and the first four times I saw them they never played it. He also did a really sweet acoustic cover of No Key No Plan. Then a few days later I saw Beirut. It was amazing. Then like a week after that I saw the Besnard Lakes. I don't think we've ever talked about them. Don't really know how to describe them even. They are on Jagjaguwar and that's how I discovered them. Check out the album The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse. Needless to say, best two weeks of concert going in my life :)

I'm so jealous. I just saw the Arcade Fire and The National this past weekend which was good, but it's no Okkervil. The closest they are coming to Chicago anytime soon is Columbus, Ohio. They literally haven't done a Chicago or anywhere near Chicago show since Oct '08 other than one show they did with Roky which doesn't count. Have you heard the entire new album yet? I just got it like two days ago. Oh, and how was the show?!?! lol

Ah yes, he is so prolific too: 4 EPs last year, the full length and just in the past few days a couple killer B-sides. you should look them up ;)
