"Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?"

The name is Vincent. I guess you could say I'm sort of an odd individual, and most of the time I have absolutely nothing to say. This causes me to be labeled as a shy person, and, it's true, I am an extremely introverted individual. However, the people that know me the best would most likely tell you that they can't get me to shut up. I do have a problem talking and getting to know new people, but I think I'm sort of getting better at it. I guess I'm just lucky that the friends that I do have saw something worthwhile and approached me, otherwise I don't think I'd have too many friends. Anyway, it also doesn't help that I have a rather strange personality, as well. Not only am I introverted but I also possess a rather dark sense of humor, which I suppose isn't unusual, but let me tell you it doesn't exactly make talking to people any easier. Now, while I'm not the dumbest person in the world I'm certainly not the smartest, either. I mean, I've read challenging books and I've watched intellectual movies, Solaris (1972) was about a girl, right? I'm kidding! It's just when you kind of fall in the middle it doesn't make anything easier is what I'm getting at. I can't really impress anyone with my smarts, and I'm not one of the guys that people love because he's stupid and helpless.

One of the reasons I tend to not like talking is because not only does it usually lead to nowhere, at least for me, but most of the time people love to talk about religion and politics, which are obviously two of the most divisive subjects that can make people hate each other. For starters, I'm very apolitical, it's all bullshit to me and 99.9% of the time people are talking out of their ass. Now, religion, I certainly have mixed feelings about. I am by no means an atheist. I guess I've never seen the point in completely believing in nothing, it sounds incredibly boring to me, and the atheists I have met are some of my least favorite people ever. That's not say the people who blindly follow an organized religion are better, but whatever. If I was to label myself I suppose it would be most accurate to say I'm a deist. Any who, I know it might seem a little hypocritical talking about religion and politics when I said I hate discussing both, but I just thought I'd let you know where I stand.

Finally, I consider myself to be a very artistic individual. I love anything that has to do with art, which is one of the reasons why I love music. I'm constantly listening to new music and always trying to discover new artists that I can fall in love with. I couldn't live without music, it really has gotten me through a lot, and so have movies and literature. I honestly couldn't imagine living my life without any of the these artistic forms, and if there's one thing I do like to talk about it's the subject of art. It's so subjective and people can make of it what they will, and I think that's the beauty of it. Anyway, if you have similar taste to mine then feel free to add me as a friend or leave a shout, and if you don't, well, that's okay too. I accept all friend requests, I'm that nice of a person!
