To my ears, the tracks you talk about don't sound deep or unique in any way. The Timelord and Black Arrow do. And I think you might be right about our tastes differing, particularly when it comes to trance music. On the other hand, I pretty much like all of the downtempo/ambient music you've listed.

On a different note, I really did like In the Heaven's Eye by Filteria. I usually don't like goa, apart from a few Astral Projection and Electric Universe tracks, so that was a nice surprise.

Hehe thanks mate. =] Flyback is pretty insane!! I can't get it out of me! Well, about Elektra, I was really obsessed with that song when I first heard it back around May '08. I clocked about 100 plays on that in about a week (no kidding.) I found it somehow very refreshing and different from what I was used to hearing so it resonated so well with me. I don't feel as strongly about it now as some of of my other top songs, but I still appreciate what it has to offer. My tastes have changed dramatically in the last year though.
