I think we as hip hop fans owe MC Hammer an apology. We were rough on him and called him a sellout. However, we should have embraced Hammer for taking rap to new heights. He was one amazing performing. He was only doing the music he had always been making even when he was selling records out of his trunk. Had he done street stuff and then recorded his pop stuff, then we would have had every right to rip him. (I am disregarding "The Funky Headhunter" stuff.)
