Ah man... 2010 has come and gone (well nearly).

climbed up out of the underground with Skream and Magnetic Man aiming for a bigger audience, and losing a lot of the wonder and pure fascination that made us love them in the first place. Always better to be the next big thing than to actually be the biggest thing lads... meh.

Still steppers had a whole lot to be happy about, even if no-one was really sure if you should call it dubstep or some new label culled from a mash up of bastardised other labels, tech-step? bro-step? No idea. Like it. Can't name it. No worries.

Actress, Pangaea, Ramadanman and other tore into 2010 like a Dutch world cup final tackle... and Headhunter tried to convince us that he's from Detroit and now called Addison Groove... whatevers Footcrab was killing it. Seriously does anyone know how to get that tune out of my brain so that I can finally sleep without footcrab/footcrab/footcrab/footcrab & insane/insane/insane/insane on repeat in every dream I have ever had since first hearing this.

Of the slightly more chilled I submit Mount Kimbie and Darkstar for your consideration. Darkstar's album especially was one I thought might be a let down but boy was I wrong. Gold shon brightly but it was always Two Chords for me that hits me in that perfect chilled way as I wonder if my players eaten some digital holes in the song like musical clothes moths. Awesome stuff.

Shit man, Digital Mystikz were BACK. Horrid Henry was. just. heavy.

OK other stuff this year included more hypnagogic pop wizardry from Emeralds and Oneohtrix Point Never with the Fennesz remix of Returnal (Remixed by Christian Fennesz) absolutely owning the (still cool) LP. But OotPN's Daniel came up trumps with another project: Games and the just awesome-o Everything Is Working.

Much love to the LA Vampires & Zola Jesus LP too - class stuff indeed and looking fwd to more awesomeness from the NNF label and LA Vamps asap. (actually new collaboration LP released already - go get!)

Anyway, not much more to say other than hears's the top 5 LPs and Tracks in no particular order;

LPs
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
Gonjasufi - A Sufi and a Killer
Darkstar - North
These New Puritans - Hidden
Joanna Newsom - Have One on Me

Tracks
Tinie Tempah - Pass Out
Games - Everything Is Working
Fuck Buttons - Olympians
Actress - Ghosts Have a Heaven
KavsravePClart

Aw man... my ownly allowed top 5? No fair...
