It's okay - The Format and Story One are out of the game too, but at last fun. and 5 Cent Theatre cover the old songs, so maybe it's okay and less enfuriating than the Lydia et al. situation. fun. are good and all, but I do prefer The Format even though they themselves can never surpass songs like 'Be Calm' and 'The Gambler'. I have an extra copy of Aim and Ignite if you want it? Also have an extra copy of Interventions and Lullabies (The Format) if you want that too? Might be easier than chasing up an AWOL CD. They never come back, man. :P Oh, and more recommendations?

Hey, one last message: Lydia are really good, though can't get it out of my head that they're Lovedrug x Eisley + x + y. Not sure what x and y are, but they're def in there somewhere. The Illuminate album is just gorgeous. Just starting on The New Frontiers, but I like what I hear so far. I have really enjoyed 65daysofstatic and Maybeshewill (pleased that I recognised one of the samples in it too!) as well as some others. I do feel sure that if I stuck with some of the bands I've heard only a little of, they might be growers. So, thanks for the tips and if I hear from you again, then that's cool; if not, that's fine too. Wishing you the best. Thanks bud.

I'm getting through a random selection of bands in your top 100; jury's still out on a lot of them, but some may become firm favourites. I'll be back on this one with more details. I will say however that you are probably more eclectic than me. And a bit more hardcore. Definitely cooler than me. (Damn you.) 2010 wasn't a good year for me either in terms of new music either - stuck to the old stuff or listened to the same few new ones on repeat. The Format was one of those. You're not a fan? I will put Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five, Story One and MuteMath out there for you - not sure you will like any of them, but worth a go? So, are you Cardiffian by choice? (ie: uni/job/partner/other) or.... And, by any chance, did you see Anathallo at Buffalo Bar in 2009?

Well this a deeply uncool way to say: 'Hello! We have music in common. Well done!' I was looking for users with similar interests in music who had been listening to Sleeping At Last and saw you. Simply that. Only my mouse had a spaz (genuinely) and clicked on your myspace link and I saw you live in Cardiff which is notable for the fact that I live here also. So, a number of reasons to say hello really. Not something I would normally do under normal circumstances. If nothing else, you have given me some ideas for more music I might like. Thanks for that and apologies for the uncool nature of this message. I am not good at first hellos.

i didn't really like the ghosts album, it wasn't really an album, more like an collection of soundscapes. With Teeth or The Slip are good to start with. especially the slip, the first 2 songs 999.999 and 1.000.000, really awsome and it's free of charge :), like the dvd you can get it of the website

Kickass. Yeah 2008 was pretty slow, I feel like all of my favourite bands have converged on 2009 for new releases. Closure in Moscow and dredg have impressed me above all so far, and I'm really looking forward to the new Mew, As Tall As Lions and RX Bandits. What's on the horizon for you?

Literally the most pretentious idea ever - 'Parts' is a three-disc set designed to be played on three different cd players at the same time. Each cd player should be set to 'repeat' at the end of each disc. As all of the cds are a different length, they will repeat at different times, and an ever-changing sonic landscape should result.

Atlantis is awesome. I'm pretty happy with my drunk self for deciding to buy the cd. Shows that some of my decision making is right on the money. I meant to burn you a cd with it on the other day when you came over for the football, along with the new 65dos stuff you've not listened to. But I didn't. Is there anything else you want from my music collection? I'll burn you a cd and take it into MVB. And yes to seeing them again, find when they're playing in Europe and we'll go find them.

Looks like you're going to have to finish the dissertation early, as next month is looking pretty awesome for gigs.
