The size and shape of the Aragon Ballroom was a force to be reckoned with. Micachu & The Shapes struggled to be heard in their extremely short set. Deerhunter used the venue to their disadvantage, going off into several long ambient streams. Then it was time for Spoon
Britt Daniel started out on stage by himself for the first song, then joined by Eric Harvey for the second. Then Jim Eno and Rob Pope joined and the show really got off the ground. They blazed through 20+ songs from their last 5 albums. Members of the band seemed to be frustrated with the venue's sound quality. Britt Daniel even said "I've been doing gigs for 22 years and I've never heard anything like this." So at the end of the encore, they got together and decided to play one more song... Jonathan Fisk... and it pretty much made my night.
