Yeah, that was what pointed me his way too. First listen was at work while trying to do a bunch of other stuff so I couldn't give it too much attention, but I liked what I heard well enough to give it another spin.

Good question about Spotify. Not sure what the deal is. All of my settings seem ok. I did some tinkering and rebooting. Fingers crossed... The new Nothing People is seriously more abstract and fragmented than Soft Crash. Not quite sure what to make of it yet. It reminds me a little of the turn Red Red Meat took after Jimmywine Majestic. They do a great cover of "Cracked Actor" by Bowie, though, which I'm all in favor of. I've always loved that song.

Yeah, the Kurt Vile's running pretty high on my list right now too. I'd read some pretty insistent recommendations on it, so I decided to check it out. It is solid. You should really check out the Drive Soundtrack, or at least the five songs that open it (the score is pretty damn good too, but I'm not sure you're really into that). The songs are just incredible retro 80's electronic bliss, though.

I'd always wondered why you never seemed to get into Tenacious D with their worship of everything metal (especially Dio), or even more surprisingly The Lonely Island. What's impressed me so much with recent spoof music is how good the actual music is within the genres they spoof. I suppose there's something insincere about comedy music. I've never checked out an entire Steel Panther album, but there's a morning show I listen to that plays them a lot. They're playing a Christmas show in KC for 10 bucks. Wish I could get to it.

I'm surprised to hear you haven't spent more time with Goblin, dude... but I certainly know how it goes these days.

My recent Goblin resurgence is pretty much down to the fact that it's an album that I keep coming back to. I was craving it the other day, and one time through wasn't enough. It's totally compelling... definitely a contender for top 10 of the year.

Tomorrow I promise to scrobble, once I retrieve my iPod from GVoz. I have dreams of going to the show next Weds. but it will have to be a gametime decision. I am committed to going to Naked Raygun at the Metro but that is an 18 and over show which I think means it will be done by 11? Can I get a starship trooper badge? George is hosting Thanksgiving so he will head home after the Metro. SD has his mom coming in that day so he is out. What time do you think Atlas Moth will take the stage?
