Why thank you very much. I'm actually quite well renowned in Guildford (where I live) for pulling that face.

  • mrmichel0927

Well, musically speaking they aren't the most impressive band around. But one of the reasons I love them so much is Ryan Clark's voice - it's enrapturing, and I also love to sing along.

  • mrmichel0927

Ah okay. I still can't part from them, even though I've moved on in terms of different subgenres. But I still listen to my favorite metalcore bands, since they are what helped me get into metal in the first place.

Thanks (: I'll get some music soon. In the mean time, you can have a listen to LUNA SEA. Their album Mother is one of my favourites

  • Zeroshii

Hey there! How's it going? Anything you'd like to recommend me to try? Doesn't have to be metal but I figure last.fm friends should try to share at least one or two of their favourites (:

    avril 2012
  • horiiz0ns

yeah, you might be right. i don't care that much, to be honest, i listen to them only occasionally, they are not one of my favorite bands, so that's that...

    avril 2012
  • horiiz0ns

i don't know, i mean anything is possible, isn't it? it's going to be a really hard job trying to top it, that's for sure.

    avril 2012
  • horiiz0ns

well, i can't always tell whether it's supposed to be a joke or not. i kind of lost that ability over the last few years, maybe it was funny, i don't know. yeah, i think it is. okay, cool. thanks man. well, there are always good and bad (terrible) ones, so australia is definitely no exception. that's true, parkway drive is one of my most favorite bands :D can't wait for a new Amity album. the last one was a masterpiece, really amazing :D

I also like scene kid bands.

oh, well then i guess i have to apologize. i'm sorry that i've forgotten you. it's just that i write with a lot of people here on last.fm ;) well, i don't listen to Iron Maiden, and never have. is that something like general knowledge, that you have to know that? like i posted on Rise to Remain's shoutbox before, they are not that bad, i just don't like their clean vocals, that's all. this is my own shout, you should be able to see that: read --> response --> delete, i just don't like when everybody else can read my conversations with people, whether it's personal or not. i want at least a little privacy, if that's even possible on the internet nowadays. i just saw that you live in australia, that's awesome man. i envy you. a lot of amazing bands are from there, for example Parkway Drive <3, Northlane, Buried in Verona,...

  • horiiz0ns

at first, who are you? and who is that person you speak of? and why should i be such a comment hater? i never said that. you must mistake me for someone else.

  • Zeroshii

Same here XD Even wiki-ing the old continuities gave me a headache. Before the reboot, I mostly just picked up random things at the library to read. Some classics like V for Vendetta and The Dark Knight Returns. I think these days I prefer standalone graphic novels

  • Zeroshii

lol I'm not a fan of crossovers myself since they can be so gimmicky at times. Are you a long time reader of comics?

    mars 2012
  • Zeroshii

Snyder's and Capullo's Batman is pretty fun lol though I must say I'm behind on my reading and haven't the time to visit my comics store (too far from where I live). Maybe I'll wait for the trade to come out. I hear it's still going strong. How about yourself?

Yes, I still like Crack the Skye better, but it's not a bad release. Really refreshing.

  • Pheneks

Now the new Mastodon DC, that's pretty damn good.

    mars 2012
  • Pheneks

Yeah, that's what I figured. Just listened to it, I'm not really impressed. It's pretty average for LoG. Now on to the new mastodon cd..

more of my younger days man. i can still love satan and listen to indie rock.

  • frivolousname

Sorry i honestly never hear of them but I'll certainly give them a listen

    mars 2012
  • Pheneks

That song was awful. Now I want to destroy the genre even more! lol. I haven't heard the new Mastodon or the new LoG releases. No, actually I've heard "Ghost Walking" and I didn't really like it, and "King Me" was pretty bland also. I'll check out that new Mastodon release tonight though.

  • Kaltenhoenn

Yeah, it's like swimming in cold water. You have deal with the extreme feeling to get used to it and then you can feel warmth. Anyway, I prefer atmospheric tunes instead of savage and bestial black metal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om5KxHd_4fI

  • BIG-D313

Ok, for me it is probably different then 90% of their other fans (i say 10% of us are local old schoolers) and I was actually there since the beginnings (Inner City Posse) living and working in Detroit during that period of time I was always subjected to the same old hip hop / rap inspired by those of the African / American decent... ICP was a new take on it... from a different angle I guess, so needless to say my ties run deeper than most.

No problem. Coheed is amazing, and these albums are their best. Nice taste!

  • AShores93

Well I wasn't sure if you meant "Of Mice and Men"-style post-hardcore or "Touche Amore"-style post-hardcore. Both are referred to as post-hardcore.

    novembre 2011
  • AShores93

Depends on what you define as post-hardcore, haha.

i don't know about other people but for me i find their music very beautiful & gets to my emotions with the lyrics & Tony's voice

I was looking up their videos and they seem amazing live. They burn their guitars and amps, and jump from the ceilings. I might die at one of their concerts but hell that would be a worthy death!

Yeah, I've delved into the hardcore punk scene. It's a great scene, and thanks for the recommendations! The Chariot sounds awesome.

hmm ill give the chariot a listen. a lot of people have recommended them

  • ARELuN

Hmm.. you're from australia, so I'm not surprised that everyone is listening to core... I mean.. parkway drive, IKTPQ, amity afflition... But, seriously it depends on country you're in.. Here in Slovakia, the whole metalcore genre is just very very underground.. very few bands that are popular play it, and if it's mainly punk/core bands... And, here like everyone who's into metal listens to Evanescence, Within Temptation, Edguy, Sonata Arctica, Amon Amarth,.. and so on. Just a list of band I hate lol :D

    septembre 2011
  • ARELuN

Well, kind of. I'm not pointing on popularity of metalcore/post-hardcore genre in world, I point on community I'm in right now. everyone listens to A7x, Slipknot, BFMV, you know, THAT bands that everyone started to listening when they were getting into metal... I listened to them long time ago and when my pupils started to listening to it, and I was listening everywhere A7x is that, A7x is this, Slipknot this, Slipknot that I've became so sick of it... So here's my story:D

Well, Ozzy didn't write anything, and while I think he was a good fit for the early material (atmospherewise), he really isn't a good vocalist. All it sums up to is I just don't like his voice, but I love the music. :/
