  • ScrobRhapsody Last.fm Rhapsody plug-in - Updated 10/28/2008 ver 0.2

    29 oct. 2008, 12h04m

The latest update to the ScrobRhapsody plug-in has been released and is available at http://ScrobRhapsody.RonGatewood.net. The update addresses two issues.

    1) The double ampersand "&&" showing in the title, artist and album tags has been corrected.

    2) A solution to the plays not getting scrobbled when Rhapsody was in countdown mode has been identified and included in this update.

I appreciate all the feedback! Please report any problems so I can get them fixed.

    Thank you,

    Ron
  • Rhapsody Last.fm plug-in

    13 oct. 2008, 1h12m

    ScrobRhapsody - .http://scrobrhapsody.rongatewood.net

I have been using it for a couple of months now. This plug-in does not use the web services so this is another option for scrobbling to Last.FM with Rhapsody. The installer will check that Rhapsody is installed on the machine before installing the plug-in. The installer also verifies that the Last.FM client software is installed. This is all BETA software and I expect more problems to get shook out with more people using it.

If you are picky about tags take a look at my history to see if the meta-data the plug-in is capturing will suite you. I currently have filtered out all of the [explicit]'s. This may be an area I could do some more work on. I am open to any and all suggestions. Right now it uses the track info displayed in the Rhapsody client.

The installer is something I put together today. It does not do much in the way of error handling. I suggest shutting down Rhapsody before attempting the install. The installer is based on wix, and is new to me. I have never liked building installers. I think I may use wix again on future projects. If the installer causes any problems let me know.

    Thanks for looking :)

  • Shinedown's latest CD

    8 jui. 2008, 0h50m

Shinedown shows the world what it means to love Rock & Roll in the 2000's. "Devour" the title track sets the tone for the listener to settle in and enjoy a true rock and roll experience. The Sound of Madness is a compelling work of art worthy of a listen.

  • Rhapsody Last.fm plugin - The testing continues....

    6 jui. 2008, 17h01m

The testing continues on the Last.fm audioscrobbler plug-in for the Rhapsody jukebox version 4. The core functionality is in place and has performed as planned. The plugin extends on the official SDK as provided by Realnetworks. The extension code (or hack) is such that the artist and title are getting reversed during the times I use the software to rip audio CD's. I want to get that fixed, right now I have been disabling the Last.FM client while ripping. More work needs to be done for when the Sansa player is attached. Scrobbling stops when the Sansa gets attached.

Toss me a bone if you want to try it.
  • Realplayer Last.fm plug-in

    REALPLAYER R11 Plug-in for windows
The LastFM plug-in for Realplayer 11 is pretty much complete. ScrobRealPlayer.dll will hook Realplayer up with the LastFM client software. The plug-in download is available here.

    Details:
Only mp3 plays will get scrobbled. So no video, streams or Rhapsody.com plays will be transmitted to the LastFM servers with this plug-in. Just plain old mp3 plays for now. Playing music directly from Audio CD's do not get scrobbled, but since it is so easy to rip CD's to a MP3 with Realplayer 11, I did not consider it a show stopper. I am not bothering with creating an installer for the plug-in. So, to install just copy the ScrobRealPlayer.dll file to <drive>:/Program files/Common files/Real/plugins directory on your computer. You will need to restart Realplayer to get it running.
  • Day 3 - Realplayer 11 LastFM plugin code

    21 juin 2008, 6h00m

Switched to working on a Realplayer LastFM plugin. I have enough code down to know it is going to work. I'm liking the ScrobSub library concept.
  • Day 2 - LastFM Rhapsody Plugin testing and more code

    19 juin 2008, 17h13m

So far so good, the plugin is performing as intended. Two problems were encountered and fixed. The first was a problem with the metadata not getting loaded correctly when playing a song from a Playlist in Rhapsody. The second was a problem with the shutdown sequence.

Right now I'm considering making an installer program.
I might make one, or maybe not. Not sure yet.
  • Testing a plugin for Rhapsody

    18 juin 2008, 21h38m

Just a quick note to mark the date. Today is the birthdate of my Lastfm plugin for the 4.0 Rhapsody jukebox player. It has taken the form of a dll file that is dropped into the plugins directory of the Rhapsody directory under Program files. ScrobRhapV4.dll communicates with the Last.fm official client using the ScrobSub library. This project has consumed many hours of my free time and has lead me down the garden path more than once. Needless to say this is a happy day for me!

To be released after I get the official plugin_id from Last.fm. The plugin has performed flawlessly up to this point.
  • Good Friday

    21 mars 2008, 16h09m

It's Good Friday and a day away from the cubicle. Time to catch up on some music and while I'm at it hook up the scrobbler while the rest of the family is asleep.
