What did you think of those songs I sent you? I just make a 25 GA compilation cd for my car :)

Sweet. Black Balloon is probably my favorite tune off the album now. It's such a lovely somber contrast from the rest. Btw, I caught a glimpse of Shirley in a Terminator promo the other day, in all her "the world is not enough" glory! The anticipation, it is palpable. I'm as excited about that as I am about my flight to Asia next week. Okay, maybe not. But it's close!

GA at their peak are quite possibly unrivaled, save for Radiohead. Kylie's ballads this century have been dire and Madonna's Nothing Fails was OK, but I'd prefer if she steered clear also.

I see. I've received word of his mixtape with Santogold recently. About M.I.A, is she actually serious with her plans of retiring from the music scene? Or is it one of those temperamental tantrums?

It's doing OK. 2 weeks in the top 20 so far - outsold Beck. Do you still not care for it? I think it has some great moments (Merrygoround, Hey), but I doubt it's going to have much longevity on my stereo.

Haha, Cloetta is all sorts of wow. Especially right now. Amazing considering her material is quite old by today's standard. She's like Sarina Paris with more indie cred and less cheese (I love the fact she's got Sarina as her number 1 influence). I definitely heard it right away. God, I lose my internet connection for 12 days and I came back to this mess. Last.fm always pulls this shit when I'm severed from cyberspace. It's going to take me a good 2 months to acclimate myself again. Thanks for the link btw!

The song is velvety; I love her hypnotic vocals and the dark moody vibe of the whole song.

The new last.fm caught me off-guard and got me assuming something was wrong with it until I realized this is actually an overhaul of the interface. lol. Regarding 8mm, I have not heard of them, I wiki'd them and saw that they were featured in One Tree hill... not exactly the most applauding of shows lol. Are they good?

Thanks! You've been huge help. I'll give you PAS/CAL's album in return; they're a charming indie pop band if you haven't heard of them already.

Goodness, I embarked on an exhausting search for Coletta's album which yielded no results. :| Her album is nowhere to be found in the web.

Amen! Once mainstream music fully embraces the electronic future (it will happen!, I think) hopefully we see more of these obscure ladies step into the limelight. I feel compelled to get Cloetta's album now.

Secret Eyes is so frosty and suave! I love it. These girls bringing retro Italian disco back are commendable. Imagine if this phenomenon swept pop music the way motown soul, and amy winehouse and her (good) kind did.

I love Disco Romance. Now it puzzles me as to why I didn't check her out sooner. Thanks for the heads up! I'd like to know who she really is though, just so I can appreciate her more as an artist; that is, if she is even real haha. She's somewhat of a cipher but her music delivers anyway.

Haha I totally dig Robyn. But I've only heard a few of her tunes (Konichiwa Bitches, Cobrastyle) and just haven't gotten around to checking out her new album. That'll be next on my list (in addition to Elbow's new album...I'll get to them eventually!). First I need to get off this Cloetta Paris/Sally Shapiro/Italo disco train. All of it's pure saccharine and I just can't stop listening to this crap to save my life. I will say one thing. I think it's a crime that Kylie cut Mylo's "I'm in the mood for love" from X (and that their entire working relationship disintegrated over a small transgression). I didn't even know this song existed until last week and I'm lamenting what it could've been! I can't believe how Kylie's unreleased material is nearly as good (if not better) then the stuff that makes the cut. This has to be my favorite behind "Made of Glass". Damnit Kylie. WHY.

Friend of Ours by Elbow is beautifully heartbreaking; it's eerie yet somehow imbibed with solace. I actually meditated on it. It eloquently and taciturnly expressed the grief of a person in bereavement. I only fully realized this now and I had to spout here :P. The line, "love you mate" tucked inside is the epitome. Only a few elegies are ever this compendious and effective imo.

Haha, I won't go as far as saying she's completely devoid of personality, but she did sell out. Big. Not that that's a bad thing but I think it has more to do with (and this is mostly baseless speculation) the Xenomanian sheen not suiting her vocal style/ability too well (who are we kidding, she's no great singer or DJ for that matter...you could say most of her popularity is riding on her ...personality? haha). I can't really fault her as it looks like the folks at Xenomania were probably working within the same mold/time frame when they produced Both the GA and Annie tracks. She most likely got the scraps and sadly she simply can't top GA at their own game. She should let Richard X do all the work the next time around (meaning I really hope she puts out more gems like "The Crush (and the left handed version)").

Pain killers are my best friend. I had both jaws broken and moved and wisdom teeth taken out. My face is the size of a balloon and my neck is bruised. But at least when my braces come off in a few months, my smile will be mint. Thanks for asking :)

HEY HEY, WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANNIE?! Haha, I do know what you mean. The Brian Higgins element is strong in this one. The songs sound great but they do feel like they're supposed to be a Tangled Up companion disc ha. If you really want to do a double take, check out her presumed next single "loco". Really makes you wonder if it was really written for Annie or perhaps someone else...

Ah, just heard it. Sounds VERY progressive, sounds great! That electro/house sound is quite agreeable. Kylie seems to be getting quality remix after quality remix these days (have you heard The Twelves remix of 2 hearts? It's AMAZING). Btw, have you seen this mess? (NSFW!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3RCYnG8Pe4 All I can say is, WTF.

Ehh I'm as dull as a rock now. Haha. I'm about to resume school here, as a senior high school student now. More "scholastic adventures" ahead! haha. This should be the year when I soak it up, but I already did that so I'm drying up. I'll see though. P.S. I never intended to neglect my last.fm. lol

I heard "Grounds for Divorce" and very much liked it. I know they've been around forever, but I just haven't gotten a chance to listen to more of their music. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check that album out. I really need something to pull me away from the "Ting Tings" hahaha. Doh.
