À propos de moi

Like what I play and what I say? Then please consider joining one of my groups!
http://www.last.fm/group/Divas!
(for those who love female stars and are partial to excess)
or
http://www.last.fm/group/Smash+Hits+Magazine
(remember your bedroom covered in the posters!)
or
http://www.last.fm/group/French+and+Saunders
(It's all about Jennifer Saunders. And her serial upstager comedy partner! You know, the vicar... the one with the Terry's Chocolate Orange and Curly Wurly addiction!)

Care about the world? About humanity? Educate yourself. Google 'Alex Jones' or check http://www.infowars.com/ and find out more about topics raised by proper musical artists like the Pet Shop Boys ('We're All Criminals Now' etc.)

Sorry for those members of the great unwashed who dislike my taste in music. But you know, my hubby claimed to be into all "credible" music like The Clash, Sex Pistols, obscure electronic dance acts with bleeps and bloops but no melodies and so forth but you know... they're just not Kylie, are they? And how easy was the conversion? Three Kylie concerts later and he became a fan. Credible music? Yeah - crap listened to by people with image issues who wanna fit in, more like!

Okay, I'm over being a bitch now. For the next two sentences, at least.

It's going to take a long time using Last.FM for my overall tracks to be truly reflective of my favourites. So whilst the artist chart on here is pretty indicative, I should just mention that my favourite 'pop' track of all time is Kylie Minogue's "Better The Devil You Know" whilst my favourite dance track of all time is Ruff Driverz presents Arrola with "Dreaming". Oh, and any inclusion of Mariah Carey is based on old Mariah, when she used to sing proper songs - not the CrapMariah who's around these days with her never ending procession of (c)rappers.

Oh yes... all this rubbish music clogging up the UK charts due to the fact that people download rubbish imposed on them by multinational A&R. There was never anything wrong with pop. Will your depressing guitar tracks or your tracks full of blokes talking about life in the Bronx be remembered and celebrated in twenty years having sold over a million UK copies? I think not!

...but for all my bitching about shit music, contradiction shows in my milestone Last.FM play tracks, which are:

30,000th: Cliff Richard - I Just Don't Have The Heart
25,000th: Geri Halliwell - Walkaway
20,000th: Scooter - The Logical Song (D-Bop UK Mix)
15,000th: Geri Halliwell - Look At Me
10,000th: Heidi Klum - Wonderland
5,000th: Gina G - Tonight's The Night (12" Original)
1,000th: Gabrielle - Walk On By

More on my tastes...

10. The Talented Mr. Ripley

I could go on and on, but I'd bore you, so I won't.

I also love what most retailers call 'World Cinema' and, because it's so difficult to find recommendations, I thought I'd share ten of mine:

1. The Orphanage
2. Europa Europa
3. Devil's Backbone
4. Pan's Labyrinth
5. Black Book
6. Bad Education
7. Live Flesh
8. The Dreamers
9. Cinema Paradiso
10. Jamon Jamon

Enough lists. You don't care. Why would you?

My instruction for Last.FM-ers: Rebel! Tag your artists according to the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and Albums. It's far more official and trustworthy than the user compiled MusicBrainz data used by Last.FM!

Final thought for this page: Music is so shite at the moment, huh? But someone tried to spark a full-on Stock Aitken Waterman revival and it could have worked except for the fact that they decided to give a record contract to The Sheilas...
