If I found it, I might try to post it on a free site somewhere, or get some likely party to publish it online. It is an interesting and important part of the history of those times and it ought to be published. I think Jim had a love/hate relationship with his folks and his sibs but he did love them and miss them. I think the Morrisons seem like good people. When they moved back to California it was probably good for Jim, but likely many old differences were still between them. I think his brother, who had been an enemy, became a friend; he'd grown up a lot since he was 13. As far as his dad being in the Gulf of Tonkin deception is concerned, listen to the recordings of the "attack" being reported (on YouTube). The officer doing the reporting sounds very not-into-it, as if he didn't want to be saying what he was saying. Just a sad, tragic event.

Hi, SaintSubversive, Jim's dad, famous for the flagship (?) of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and for the erroneous idea that Jim hated him, had an interview in Look magazine in late1970 or (probably) early 1971, in the issue titled (I believe) The Navy in Vietnam. In it, Admiral Morrison said that the US should get out of Vietnam for the primary reason that kids sent over there were becoming addicted to drugs. He thought that America should get out of Vietnam because it was worsening the drug problem. No mention was made of his relationship to Jim, which is absolutely as it should be. But in a photo of the drug treatment center, a poster of Jim was on the wall. Curiously, this article, which should be online, is not. It would be so useful for drug and Vietnam war researchers and of course to Jim's fans. I haven't been able to find a listing of that mag and its contents online, either, but it definitely existed. So, if you are interested and able, you might look for this document.
