a nice selection of top tracks there! yup, deciding between beats/bloops/bass and 'proper' music, a tricky business indeed

also, have you watched that video on the main page of Everything's Exploding? it's a new GGD track I think you just may love - and it's also really interesting to see the ways in which they use guitars and basically just how they craft that sound.

You're very welcome my friend. That album did pretty much the same to me when I first heard it - I was in a hiphop/minimal techno phase at the time and was like "wow. this changes worlds." Since then they've become one of my favorite bands and revived my interest in guitars that had faded since my last shoegaze phase. The things they do with amps, feedback, drones, etc are amazing. It's good to see, also, you listened all the way though. So many people have little patience these days, but Boris' music sort of demands it - there was a quote somewhere by one of them which basically stated that they think the world is attention-deficit and they craft music that purposely forces and builds patience, takes time to think about and appreciate, to unfold into the grand work it is. I like that idea.

your in-house music goon/vinyl junkie...pop culture...health and safety/cycling profficiency...noise...half truths: i play the guitar, i am in a band, i have my own magazine and record label...clothes i admire but would never wear...awkwardly priced items...eating food in new ways...bootlegs, peel sessions, demos...covert littering...absurdism...lunchbox food: um bungo, dairylea, iced gems...picture discs, flexidiscs...people who lived through the 80s...being half of the stars of track and field...the 12" single...anything shiny...being someone else for the day...beards...sandwiches with two different kinds of meat...warm but with slight breezes...contradictions...
camden...being an on the cuff raver yet also mathlete extraordinaire...germany...probably having some kind of mental disorder yet blending well with pedestrains...individually wrapped slices of cheese that taste like plastic...people who can tie their laces really fast
