As a huge fan of belle & sebastian and a quite commited fan at that, i feel it is only necessary that a speak a few words of my most favoritest of scotish bands/bands of all time.

not only on the new cd,the life pursuit, but overall because B&S have pretty much changed the way i see music and how i listen to music. i guess i should preface that by saying that the first time i listened to b&s was when i was in 8th grade and still rode the school bus. i still think that is the most appropriate way to listen to them.

sitting in the most uncomfortable little cramped school bus seats in the florida heat with the windows down and your headphones on as loud as it takes to hear the music, and back then i only had a cd player so basically it was a lot of skipping and a lot of buying a new cd player every month.

belle and sebastian decidedly changed the way i saw music because i had never heard anything so complex, interesting and beautiful. their lyrics are a blend of storytelling, boundary pushing and irony. i even find myself falling in love with the people b&s sing about and after falling deeply in love with them i find myself ignoring the lyrics and listening to the amalgam of instruments that combine to form the holy sound that is b&s.
