• Top Ten

2 avr. 2006, 15h21m

I was bored, so this was stolen from QuantumEpiphany's journal...

Top 10 artists:
1. John Frusciante
2. Shearwater
3. Kings Of Leon
4. Le Tigre
5. Howards Alias
6. Millencolin
7. Maximo Park
8. System Of A Down
9. The Futureheads
10. Hundred Reasons

Questions based on those artists' numbers:

What was the first song you heard by #6?
No Cigar. Perfect music for skateboarding in all honesty. The album Pennybridge Pioneers is just awesome, still one of my favourite records after 6 years.

What is your favorite album from #2?
Winged Life, a beautiful record.

What are your favorite lyrics from #5?
From, Blessing or Curse. "If I hang around that's how feelings mount today, I might find myself stuck, I might find myself stuck. But if you came across to fill this empty spot today, I might not get up, I just might not get up. And I don't know which is worse yeah, is this a blessing or curse? I'm not sure which is worse, a blessing or curse, a blessing or curse."

How many times have you seen #4 live?
I haven't seen them live at all :(

What is your favorite song from #7?
Limassol. High tempo, northen rock. Good stuff.

What is a good memory you get from #10?
I was working in Andys Records at the time that Ideas Above Our Station came out, it was I who marked it as a great album we should be playing in store. The guys have gone on to be quite famous, not because of me of course...I just like to be right.

What song from #3 makes you sad?
Sad? Kings Of Leon? There isn't one.

What are your favorite lyrics from #2?
Oh, this might be tough. From Whipping Boy. "If I told you once then I told you twice, that I would have paid just about any price. Just to see him jump, just to see him laugh. I would have washed in the blood of an innocent man. Let the Whipping Boy ride." So tough to choose. I'm not entirely happy with that.

What is your favorite song from #9?
Hmm, probably Hounds Of Love simply because I have great memories of the live performance.

How did you get into #3?
Well, Kings Of Leon are around everywhere aren't they? I think I saw them on television first.

What was the first song you heard by #1?
The Past Recedes, what a day.

What is your favorite song by #4?

How many times have you seen #9 live?
Only once, although it was fantastic.

What is a good memory you get from #2?
I don't really have any good memories of Shearwater, they came across at quite a low point in my life. They fill that gap very well though.

What song by #8 makes you sad?
If any, it would probably be Lost In Hollywood. SOAD don't generally make me feel sad though.

What is your favorite album by #5?
Beat Heart Beat, what a record!

What are your favorite lyrics from #3?
Ah, hmm. Can anyone ever tell what this guy says? I don't listen to Kings Of Leon for the lyrics in all truth.

What is your favorite song by #1?
The Will To Death. Beautiful.

What is your favorite song by #10?

What is your favorite album by #7?
They have only released one record, A Certain Trigger

• more of the same

11 août 2005, 15h09m

It occured to me just now that the more and more I see people's musical tastes the more and more I realise we all listen to the same thing. Which I find odd.
I wonder what I need another journal space for because I just use them as a place for my negative/pointless thoughts.

Does this thing accept html?;

If yes, a shameless plug.
If no, a useless jumble of text.
