Mon 26 Apr – The Expendables had a good turn out for a Monday night show. Missed the opener, Dirty Penny as they had a short set and I arrived 20 minutes late. I did catch Tomorrows Bad Seeds who opened with 10-12 minutes of amazing. They also ended quite strong but I feel the middle of the set was a little weak with a collection of tracks that sounded similar. Almost like they made the tracks in an attempt at capturing radio play (which is something many artists would like to achieve so I can't fault them too much). Big B wasn't really my style, most of Suburban Noize Records catalog isn't though. If you like Kottonmouth Kings you should check out Big B. It's been a while since I saw The Expendables. As I recall when they last came to Fargo they were relatively unknown, had 2 albums released and were about to release or had just released their third (Gettin' Filthy). They were headlining this time around so the expanded setlist was nice. Starting with tracks from the most recent album such as Ganja Smuggling, they ran though their last couple records and eventually after a myriad of screams from the crowed played classics like Sacrifice. They finished out the evening with a track from their yet to be released album Prove It and finally Bowl For Two which I had been waiting for them to play all evening. In all it was a great show for a Monday! Here's to hoping they return once the new album drops!
