Honestly I don't like it in some ways when people get too caught up on "loving the musician as a person" instead of a musician too much, as well. Because they get all caught up on the politics of the group/artist and the like, and start hating the band based upon their views and not musical enjoyment. Musical brilliance is musical brilliance, and I think it should be judged on that untainted by what the artist is like as a person. I think that Richard Wagner made awesomely beautiful music as a musician, but I don't like him as a person because he was an antisemitic douchebag.

http://www.last.fm/music/%E6%A4%8D%E6%9D%BE%E4%BC%B8%E5%A4%AB/+images/47717 For instance, I think this picture of Nobuo Uematsu is incredibly low quality and am glad it's last on the picture ratings. And it completely makes sense to leave a comment saying "This is an awful picture of Nobuo Uematsu". There are other versions of the same picture that aren't though. That's how the picture section works, I don't understand the point of just randomly coming in and opposing saying something critical or positive in the pictures section, such as that, unless it's undeservingly degrading. Like how on some black metla artist pictures people go off on saying how this black metal artist must suck because "they look ridiculous". Or that Visual Kei artists must be awful because they wear make-up or that emo bands "suck, they look like sissies". But I don't think they need to be "loved as people" if you don't know much about them, they need to be "loved as musicians".

Love as person? Why would you love someone you don't even know? I don't know Yoko Shimomura so it would be pointless to "love" her. I respect her as a musician and enjoy, in fact adore her works far above say, those of Motoi Sakuraba. But "loving" her like you implore people to, that doesn't make sense. I can't love her if I don't especially know anything about her. If I read a book about her then I would be closer to being able to love her as a person. And it's a picture section, the entire point is to comment on pictures, and that picture was too small. And it's the entire point of the picture section to comment on picture such as saying which pictures you think are better or worse of the artist.
