Aha! Well I've never been to Palestine, but I do recognise the artist's name. Perhaps he's had a gallery of prints over here. Or I may have just seen it on the web XD. Joanna Newsom's new album is good, and has some very beautiful tracks on it, but don't expect an easy listen, it takes days for the album to grow on you. It's the same for all of her albums. Her most rewarding album in my opinion (And in most others') is Ys. I wrote a review of her first two albums, you can read it here.

Rosetta T is a really interesting woman. She was one of the earliest people to become a star singing both gospel and secular songs. She was a genuinely big star, being big enough that she was (I think) the main Afro-American star to be recorded specifically for the US troops in World War 2. She was a mean electric guitarist, and I first became aware of her from a film clip dating from the mid-1950s in which she was playing a wild guitar solo in front of a choir of nuns. This came from a TV programme about the early history of British rock, and it made it clear that Rosetta was well respected as a musician. I also came across a passing reference from George Melly (a mischievous British blues man) which suggested that you had to lock your bedroom door at night if you were on tour with her. Clearly, some woman!
