Just got tickets to see Frank Turner in Feb. Work is fucking awful but homelife is good so the balance is there. Public Service broadcast is playing locally so might catch them. Saw the Staves recently and the were brilliant and gorgeous. Still feel the need for new music, do you? btw you on Spotify? or twitter?

Had a great time:) Great atmosphere, a lot smaller than Glastonbury but a great feel. Saw Citizen Fish, which a ambition from way back, Headmix Collective - who were ace, Sam Lee - who was very interesting, Gaz Brookfield - very good, Jim Lockey , Goldblade ... All in all some great music rounded off by the Levellers. Hopefully, going back next year. How's it going with you?

Often go camping in Norfolk with the wife and kids, when roughly in July? There might be a festival on ... think I saw something somewhere but it is a dance one.

Hi :) 'Thought you might like to know (if you didn't already) that The Grapes of Wrath have not only reunited and started playing together again (original members) but that they're recording a new album this Spring. All of this and other stuff (merch etc.) is on their Facebook page if you're interested. https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Grapes-Of-Wrath/125786907433634?ref=ts (Sending you this because I noticed you had played All the Things I Wasn't.)

Frank Turner did a extensive NA tour last year supporting Social Distortion. Yes, he is great live. Seeing him again on may 20th only 6 miles away from where I live :) Looking forward to glasto, lineup still not finalised but most of the headliners are: Beyonce, coldplay, u2, chemical brothers, primal scream hoping for John Grant somewhere in the lineup. how are you, you good?

Hello there, saw your post on NHA's page and had to stop by and say I feel the same sometimes as far as all the music I've 'scrobbled'. But then again I can't stand television and I've unfortunately stopped reading as much as I used too - but my wife's an English teacher and she's gotten me back to reading some of the semi-classics(short stories mostly) Faulkner, Steinbeck, Hemingway, Fitzgerald etc) I'm also really into the Beat stuff and have been searching for any kind of Ginsberg recently - especially Howl. I guess it's my lucky day seeing that you sell old lit. Seems very strange I can't find it any any bookstores- either the big stores or the good old used book stores - so if you have any in stock I'm 'in the market' for it and would pay whatever the asking price. Thanks, hope to hear from you.

Yeah, that was sort of my mailing address. I sent it to you in Chinese characters... thought you could print it out and stick it to the envelope. If you use a machine that can read those (whatever you used the first time, I guess) you can get it. Or if you give me an email address I can send it that way. But I must admit... getting mail from Canada is tricky. China sometimes blocks that. It's like the great firewall but low-tech.

Well thanks back :) I love to see The Gun Club and The Replacements in your top artists (my plays don't reflect how much I listen to 'em). And yes, X is more than worth another listen..along with John Doe's solo music and The Knitters.

Oh, I was stumbling around the jazz collection really drunk and grabbed the first CD I could! PS: All websites are blocked here in China-land. Sorry about not keeping up with my facebooks and emails and flickrs and all that!

yes, it was! Amazing, awesome, mindblowing. 175,000 happy people just totally getting down, fantastic weather, great performances and the 'Leftfield' Billy Bragg's tent was like a spiritual homeland. Seriously considering buying a caravan so I can take the family and do a major holiday based on Glasto and then a week by the sea to chillout afterwards. One of my alltime favourite experiences ... LOL. I think you get some idea!

À propos de moi

I'm an antiquarian bookseller from Nova Scotia. When I'm not trying to hawk classic satire to the myopic masses, I'm gnashing my teeth at the degeneration of CBC Radio 2. Actually, I do that simultaneously.
