Sábado 24 Jan – Alanis Morissette - SIARÁ HALL
Alanis Morissette concert in Fortaleza was the third Brazilian date of her South American Tour. It was one of the first international mainstream rock concerts in the city, so the venue was quite crowded. A couple of hours late, the craziness began. She was accompanied by a great five piece band. Oh God, she was on fire! And, believe me, so was the crowd. Maybe there were too many people singing along TOO loud every song. I couldn't even hear her harmonica! Not to mention the other details of the apparently great arrangements. Unfortunately, that's the Brazilian way of watching a concert. But she loved it so much.
The setlist was fine. Despite the absence of Under Rug Swept tracks, I had some good surprises, like The Couch, Uninvited, Sympathetic Character and Perfect. The new songs were great, especially Moratorium. You Oughta Know isn’t one of my favorites, but it sounded orgasmic live. The highfiving on Hand in My Pocket was magic. And Thank U was a beautiful choice to finish this beautiful night. The concert was short, though. It lasted less than one hour and a half. A couple more songs wouldn’t kill anyone.
I was pretty close to the stage. It took me some time to believe I was actually seeing Alanis Morissette spinning and jumping and going crazy right before my eyes. Priceless! I ignored the several improper behaviors of the people around me the best I could. Man, I think I deserve an award for that! Thank God it worked. A fully seated concert is just a dream in Brazil, so I set a new personal record after 6 hours standing up. And this time went by so fast if you ask me. I started to feel my right foot again this morning, but it was worth it. A night to remember.

Sábado à noite, uma multidão de cearenses se amontoa na fila pra prestigiar Alanis Morissette em seu terceiro show da turnê sul-americana. Esse foi um dos primeiros shows de rock internacional em Fortaleza (antes só teve umas bandas de punk rock). Aí já viu, né? Pro negócio ficar divertido, um belo atraso de 2h. Então Alanis chega com sua banda e começa o bate-cabelo. Louca louca louca! Se aquilo não era presença de placo, então eu não sei o que esse termo significa. Agora o público foi um negócio complicado. Podem me chamar de louco, mas eu vou pra um show pra ouvir o artista cantando, e não o público berrando. Sim, estavam berrando! Tinha uma menina muito desafinada gritando no meu ouvido. Eu não consegui ouvir a gaitinha dela, os detalhes dos arranjos (que pareciam ótimos) e às vezes eu não ouvia nem ela cantar. Mas tudo isso tem um lado bom. Ela amou, o que facilita uma volta pra próxima turnê.
O setlist foi bom. Nada de Under Rug Swept, mas teve umas surpresas boas: The Couch, Uninvited, Sympathetical Character e Perfect. As músicas do novo álbum também foram ótimas, especialmente Moratorium. Achei incrível como You Oughta Know, que eu nunca liguei muito, foi orgásmica ao vivo. O highfive com a platéia em Hand in My Pocket foi um daqueles momentos que você pensa “cara, isso aconteceu mesmo?”. E nada mais apropriado do que terminar com Thank U. Foi um show curto, pouco menos de uma hora e meia. Não custava nada mais umas 2 músicas.
Eu fiquei pertinho do palco. Foi difícil de acreditar q eu tava mesmo vendo Alanis Morissette pulando, girando e enlouquecendo na minha frente. Impagável. Ignorei com todas as minhas forças a mal-educação da galera do meu lado. Pô, eu merecia um prêmio por isso! Graças a Deus a estratégia deu certo. Além de tudo bati um novo recorde pessoal: 6h horas em pé, que na verdade passaram bem rapidinho. Eu só fui sentir meu pé direito de novo hoje de manhã, mas valeu. Foi uma noite inesquecível.
