And yea, I agree, the lyrics for "End" are pretty cool. And that's what's so great about music. Songs can bring back so many good memories every time you listen to them. I've been a fan of MxPx for over 16 years. I still remember the first song I ever heard. Teenage Politics, from the Seltzer Christian rock compilation. That CD got me into so many of my favorite bands. Because of that CD, I bought my first CD's from MxPx, Audio Adrenaline, Supertones, Plankeye and Third Day. It also featured dc Talk, Newsboys, and Jars of Clay, but I already had their CD's. And then the first time I heard the "Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo" album. It was the Christmas of ' 98. My family was in Mississippi visiting my grandparents. I can remember listening to that CD everywhere I went! I will always remember that! That album still reminds me of my grandparents house to this day! Let's just hope MxPx keeps putting out music for another 16 years! One can only hope!

Blindside's "With Shivering Hears We Wait" and John Mark McMillan's "Economy" probably round out my top 5 of 2011.

Mat Kearney is definitely legit! "Young Love" is one of my favorite albums of 2011 without a doubt, along with Go Radio's "Lucky Street" and The Dangerous Summer's "War Paint."

End was my favorite song on the Left Coast Punk EP. Lyrically, it is a great song, and it is a good song overall - but personally, I wouldn't rank it as one of the best songs Mike's ever written. Overall, I just thought the EP was a disappointment compared to all of their other releases, and a big step backwards after Secret Weapon. No worries though, Plans Within Plans is here and it's here to stay!

yea i could definitely hear a tad bit of tumbledown on plans within plans. but i like it! like you, i'm not sure quite yet where to rank it, but it's definitely much better than the left coast punk ep. that was the only mxpx music i've ever purchased that i was disappointed with. so far, i like the 2nd half of the album better than the first half. my favorite track so far is probably stay on your feet. aces up and far away are both good too though. i definitely think it will grow on me more as i listen to it more.

Oh and that whole liking music that has heart and it's about someone sharing their life with you and not disregarding music because it's simple... I think you'd really dig Daniel Johnston. I'm obsessed.

You don't listen to metal because it's hard to play and you don't listen to indie because it's cool to like it? That's the silliest thing I've ever heard! C'monnnn! :P

so you should definitely buy Arthur's new album, "Watch the Years Crawl By," if you haven't already. It came out yesterday. It is amazing. Sounds just like MxPx. Kinda reminds me of their B-Sides album, Let's Rock. And that album was awesome. Do you have Arthur's first EP, "Loneliness is Bliss?" I never got that one, but after hearing this album, I'm thinking about buying that one too...

i just checked to see what you were talking about! i didn't know about it! so he retired?!?! i guess it was bound to happen eventually. AND they say they'll scale back on touring as Tom is gonna work a full time job and only play select shows and mike is gonna do Tumbledown stuff. I think Tumbledown is a lame side project. He should stick to MxPx. I really hope they keep putting out CD's on a regular basis. What do you think is gonna happen to them?

À propos de moi

whats up my names jacob hedlund its nice to meet you

i try to be a well rounded person when it comes to music but honestly i mainly just listen to what i think sounds good or if it has a lot of heart. i wont disregard a song for a dumb reason like it's easy to play, it's mainstream, it's dirty, or it's Christian, or anything. Music is just somebody sharing part of their life with you, try to at least appreciate it for that, whether or not you agree with their lifestyle.
