Last.fm Client 1.1.3: source tarball and (K)ubuntu package

hey last.fm users and linux fans...
fresh from the oven, a new source tarball of the latest last.fm client (version 1.1.3) and a (k)ubuntu package.
grab it while it's hot:

So if you can't build the source, this binary should work, as long as your distro is somewhat recent.

There are a few suggestions about the package:
Could you change the 0etch1? It implies that it will install on the upcoming Debian etch release, but the package requires a newer libc6 than etch offers. 0edgy1 would be more appropriate.
The package should remove the .svn directories from usr/lib/extensions, usr/lib/services, and usr/share/pixmaps/lastfm/buttons.
usr/share/doc/lastfm/README.Debian should be changed or removed. -

yes you're right, it should be edgy and not etch, will be fixed on monday.
i quickly updated the package though, removing the .svn stuff and changing the README.Debian. that was an ugly glitch, thanks for noticing.
fixed version is online, same url:

i'm using ubuntu (latest dapper) and i've installed qt4 packages, but qmake is still missing. When i installed qt3-dev qmake was working, but like i supposed compile script didn't work with older version. So this isn't players fault but qt.

You can get a previous version of last.fm for Ubuntu dapper here. -

pavik: well to be exact it's actually still your fault. you should have installed libqt4-dev instead. libqt3-dev is for the old qt version 3, and the client needs qt4. (see README)

muesli: i've installed libqt4-dev from repos, but still there is too old version of qt (4.1.x), so i should get latest version from qt site... but actually i've installed lastfm_1.0.7 for dapper (thanks Sugar_Kane :) ) and this is enough for me.

There are packages of last.fm 1.1.3.0 for Debian etch and Ubuntu edgy here.
They're unofficial but they include some patches that you might find interesting. -

muesli: Actually, no. We're using an alternate alsa plugin that I've been working on. It's based on the alsa plugin from xmms and seems to work better in setups that require software mixing or that have multiple sound cards.

Can we not compile in OSS, and use that if available by default? Most distros still have the OSS compat module loaded, and for everyone else it still seems to bring more love than ALSA in a lot of cases.

mxcl: I tried compiling in OSS a while ago, but I have onboard sound that can't do hardware mixing. So I ran the client through aoss to avoid the blocking problems, but it was a bit of a kludge. ALSA's default device, on the other hand, just works.
