Tub Ring - The Great Filter
Tub Ring mixed up the solid song writing of 'Fermi Paradox' with the glorious layering of their last album 'Zoo Hypothesis' to create 'The Great Filter'. And while the band have spent a lot of time on the song writing they've still found found time and space to keep the musical styles varied. 'Requiem For A Robot' sees them add a choiral dirge to the list on genres they've found the time to incorporate. If the similar artist on their last.fm page leave you a bit bewildered I think people who like The Faint or Beck might appreciate thi album.

Ideamen - Progress
Mr. Swanson of Duct Tape Mustache and Dog Fashion Disco has gathered a group of similarly talented individuals and formed Ideamen. A keyboard let rock outfit not afraid to mix up their styles.
Know The Dance is a rock song with a schizophrenic hit of salsa in it and Cavity is amazing... I think it sounds a bit like Muse... but with some beat boxing/rap action. Go listen to them now, they're great.

Klaxons - Myths Of The Near Future
A very fun album of dance-y-indie crosover stuff... and as probably the most famous band on this list I won't go on about them. 'Four Horsemen of 2012's catchy simplicity is excellent.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - In Glorious Times
This is quite an epic work... Not the sort of album you can just dip into. I like the description Rock-Against-Rock for trying to sum up Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - They make a very varied canvas of clangs and blips mixed with more traditional instruments to build winding soundscapes. I can't believe I just typed soundscape... there must be something wrong with me.
Listen to a track off it here called "Headless Corpse Enactment.

Clutch - From Beale Street To Oblivion
Clutch have upped the blues influence in their music again with glorious results. Opening with twin blast of 'You Can't Stop Progress' and 'Power Player' this albums got groove going on. Not to mention some very catchy and off-kilter chrouses. Bang Bang Bang Bang, Vaminos Vaminos... indeed!
