Dear Madonna,
Or would you prefer M, Madge or Esther? Let me know. As a long-time fan of your music and of you as a lady I hope 2012 will be a stellar year for you. I hear you have a movie coming out. That’s nice for you. I hope it does better than your other ones.
Let’s get down to serious business: your music. I’ve heard two new songs from you, one was called ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’’ and the other was called ‘Masterpiece’. To be quite honest with you, neither could be described with the latter boastful adjective. Firstly, you plan to have guest raps (yes, guest raps) from Nicki Minaj AND M.I.A. on the former? Dear me.
And ‘Masterpiece’ sounded nice and all, but lyrics comparing the object of your desire to a painting in the Louvre is hardly up there with you greatest lyrical achievements. Are you the same woman brought us the poetic masterpiece that was ‘Mer Girl’ or created a fully fleshed out character in Dita for ‘Erotica’?
I suppose I should be grateful that at least you didn’t rhyme “waiting” with “hesitating” again, but I’ve heard rumours that you will be on some of the other tracks. It was ok on ‘Hung Up’ but by ‘4 Minutes’ it had become a joke and in ‘Celebration’ you had to be taking the piss.
