Nice! I agree, Extol is amazing. August Burns Red is decent. I haven't been into metalcore as much recently, but it's always nice to listen to some ABR.

Did you ever find any jazz vinyls?

Interesting, I will have to check that band out. Good luck finding some vinyls! Another band that I would recommend checking out is The Reign of Kindo. It's more jazz rock, or something like that, so not sure if they would carry that in any of the shops. They have their albums on Spotify, if I remember correctly. They're good to listen to every once in a while. Here's one of their best songs, imo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkcZdhamaew

Do you like jazz? That's sweet if you do. Here are some of my other favorite albums: John Coltrane - Soultrane, Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come, and Sonny Rollins - Tenor Madness. I'm not sure if I have a "favorite" album by any of the following: Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus, and Miles Davis. Just some of the jazz artists I really like.

Nice! It's always great to get new music. I think the new Extol track is pretty good, especially the vocal harmonies towards the end of the song. It's interesting because it's almost like they crossed something off of Burial with Blueprint stuff (but it still has a unique twist). I am glad the vocals are back to being more guttural, though; if there was one thing I didn't care for as much on Synergy or Blueprint it was the shouted, hoarse kind of vocals.

That's good to hear. Hopefully they will release it soon so I can get to listen :)

Sounds great, you'll have to let me know how it is. Did you ever end up going to that TWBD concert?

I actually own both of the band's full-length albums :D They're a very strange band. If you read the lyrics, they are more Christian than a lot of bands that claim to be. Most of it is inspired directly from the Scriptures. But like you said, they don't want to be labelled as such. If I remember one of the band members was a Buddhist or something, and maybe one was a Universalist. Anyway, I'm not sure how good their live show is.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I've had some great success with writing reviews for this blog, praise God! I've had a lot of bands contacting me lately to write reviews, and even a rep from a record company show interest! HFTD featured my review on their FB, but I didn't know Facedown tweeted the link. That's great!

Haha for once my pre-order came super early. 4 of the songs on the CD are 8 minutes plus :D

Awesome stuff. I've never been a big fan of TDWP, though. New HFTD CD is incredible btw :D

Nice. Unfortunately I am pretty much broke right now and I just got a huge car bill... But yeah almost done with spring break here and then it's back to the grind. The new Starcraft expansion comes out Monday at midnight, so I am super excited about that. I'm not sure if you're a Lord the Rings fan, but maybe if you get the time you can check out my newest story The Tale of the Blue Wizard. Also you might like this band called Captain Roselyn. I wrote a review for their EP. Their sound is somewhat of a mix between Zao, Norma Jean, and The Chariot.

Oh, and did you read the story? What did you think? It was interesting to write from the Zerg perspective. A lot of fun, too!

It's my passion! I guess we haven't had this conversation before, which is weird. But anyway, I want to write science fiction...hence the blog. I'm working on a novel right now :D I will probably do other fan fiction universes as well on my blog. I used to write a lot of Star Wars stuff. I might take a look at some of those ideas and revamp them. And more Starcraft writing as well. Maybe even Red Faction. That might be hard to do, though, because that universe is pretty small and centered around just one character. But you must know I like to write, or I wouldn't write reviews and such on my music blog!

I'm launching a writing blog, check out my new story "I, Zergling" that I've just written. I figured that I can write some fan faction, at least, to get people interested in my writing while I'm working on my novel. Enjoy and let me know what you think! http://blasterboltsgalaxylore.blogspot.com/

Yeah, I pre-ordered HFTD, the new Grave Declaration, and put in my kickstarter support for Solamors. And I bought the new Red album...I think that covers it for a while, at least :D
