"kiteo wrote: September 2011 Personally I prefer my records to be shorter than my lifespan. " --nice humor, found that as a shout for Vangelis - Chariots of fire, which is not that long actually... for me it's a great joy to listen to the long tracks from my youth from time to time. ..whatever i wish you a long and healthy life! regards

Perhaps, Canadians are very talented. There are many talented Canadians the world over. In the US, many top stars are originally from Canada.

Then again getting married/divorced is not too common amongst people my age anymore; my only friend my age who is, got married to skip military service. But if I do a cultural comparison of the facebook behaviour of my friends I'd have to say that the German ones seem much less likely to post for example their current location on facebook. But I noticed a trend everywhere that people are getting sick of social networking. A good number of friends have withdrawn from facebook. I guess people have noticed how most of what happens there is "low-priority noise" as one of my favorite self-improvement writers calls it. It's just nowhere near meeting people face-to-face when most of the time what we are pursuing on messageboards are chimeras. And my favorite among your favorites would probably have to be the Pixies

Three days of listening to David Bowie radio and our shared tastes are super.... omg we're SOULMATES!!! As for online behaviour I wholeheartedly believe in this theory: http://33bits.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/dickwad-theory.jpg I think judging people by musical tastes only works to a limited degree: I just have to look at myself & see how I would have bashed my current self a couple of years ago. I have friends who don't listen to music at all! Hell, one of my best friends during my times in Istanbul hated everything with guitars and only listened to techno. So as I know now that you are opting for not being a German-hater, I guess, I can safely assume that you are neither a football hool nor a WWII vet. Slowly, I am getting to know you better! UK is OK, too. How could I state otherwise? After all I wouldn't want to upset you and see you spill your tea/drop your crumpet, your monocle popping out with indignation :)

My friendship is pointless, I knew it! Although I know several marriages and divorces that wouldn't have happened without messageboards. Fascinating graph: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2023/2266573097_085a9c6e52_o.jpg You can have endless discussions about people's online behaviour, like: are people who post comments on youtube that crazy in real life? I have a dream that one day there'll be an internet REVEAL button where people who troll can have their face and details immediately exposed on screen. It's less inspiring than Martin Luther King's admittedly. And I totally judge people by their musical tastes! Although one of my best friend's favourite musicians is Bryan Adams, so it's not a deal-breaker.

Someone wrote about how he was on heroine & you said "put it away, dear"... There is not much purpose of friends' here, I guess. I have listened to other people's libraries a few times, but I'd always turn it off rather soon. There is not much of a point in these virtual communities anyway. My real life friends' musical tastes are nothing like mine, so I don't think, it's a mayor criterion in the first place. I have sparked a few lasting exchanges some years ago (on flixster) when the virtual community thing was new & you would enjoy projecting your expectations on some avatar. There were times that it was a good thing, but I don't think I would ever meet someone I met on the internet. I guess messaging each other on last.fm it's just like talking to people you meet waiting in queues or sitting next to you on a transatlantic flight. It's not supposed to go anywhere, but in the moment it just seems like the right thing to do. So you are from the UK?

Hey, I checked my first song. Go to my profile shout box for the answer. ;-) You have a great collection, I'm sure our musical compatibility would be higher if I didn't have such a vast library. Cheers! Stephen

Oh HELLooo....kit E Ohhh! Yeah, I know. Everybody hates my music choices. I wish I could say they have some intellectual background, but the plain truth is most N/A music is instrumental. Being a computer weenie, it helps me drown out distractions. Mo lyrics also means fewer distractions. N//A is simpatico with my mental rythmn. We' ARE compatible, I said OMG, she has Blondie. I loved that spaced out peroxide bombshell. I grew up on Beatles, on Ed Sullivan. Abba! Great singers, great lyrics, but offstage "Vee don' know vhat vee sangink in Angleesh! Kood be ve vant Fre sex" Of course THE Blonde Beautay! Cindi Lauper. Fantastic singer., loved her CDs, but on MTV it was like watching a train wreck. Great picture though. And of course Major Tom! or lil' Davey Bowie.. Would'ya believe, after 20 years I ran across Labyrinth on Netflix last night. Ok, got'a stop. Taa taa! Or! Translated from the Kings abridged Californian edition: 'Later Dudette!
