So, I found this mystery cd, which I wrote about in my blog, and it had a bunch of stuff on it that I liked. I mean, I liked every track, and I thought it was a VERY good mix cd, and many of the artists on it that I recognized were folks that I'm a big fan of. The rest of them were on the whole artists that I had heard of but never gotten around to listening to, and consequently this cd introduced me to them, and I'm so so happy it did, because I clearly am a fan. But the most delightful thing is to finally get around to doing this whole last.fm thing, and then have a bunch of them pop up in a row. Confirmed, I like them:Grizzly Bear, Final Fantasy, Jens Lekman, Voxtrot, Neutral Milk Hotel....and I heard a song by The Knife that I never had before, and which is possibly in my top 20 all time favorite songs(

I Take Time), which is awesome....

But where in the wide world did that cd come from???

Last Night A Rory Merritt Stitt Saved My LIFE!

Okay, okay, I exaggerate. Rory Stitt didn't save my life in a direct and physically real way...that I'm aware of.

But, like, man, he just gets it, you know? He's like a mindreader, because every time he writes something new, I feel like I relate to it in a very profound way.
I don't know if it's like man-I-really-personally-relate-to-this or wow-those-lyrics-are-so-expressive-and-incisive, but I suspect it's a little of both. He's good. And it makes me feel good to hear him - whether I'm happy or sad, and whether his music makes me happy or sad, it's a good happy or sad.

It's kind of embarrassing to foam at the mouth like this, but pride's gotta bow down to emotion sometimes, y'know?
