Smart thinking. Though I had naively thought that festival-goers would have been put up in little Prisoner-style chalets.

So there I was, 9am sharp, on the Ticketweb website poised to buy my ticket for peace. I get to the checkout screen and realise that my billing address does not match my delivery address, so I have to start again. By the time I get back to the beginning of the process: Sold Out! Quite annoyed. If I were to attend a festival again, I would think that one held in Port Meirion would be one of the few locations that I would be prepared to consider. However, unfortunately, it probably is a bit too close to the big day for me. I might even have to get myself a haircut that weekend!

I would definitely up for seeing them at the Garage - not least because it won't include Butler.

Is it really true that the band that stormed the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize are playing the 630 capacity Highbury Garage? http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/AJI1610?camefrom=CFC_UK_MAMA_GARAGE&brand=thegarage

1:40 but if you are otherwise occupied, we could always go and explore the castle or something? (I like that you listened to We Are The Pigs four times in succession in preparation.)

Aside from the patent nonsense of the second sentence in that article, this is very exciting news!

If you missed the end, you should head to the ICA in November and you can fill in the gaps.

I've been meaning to listen to it and have a 6 hour bus trip to Jime's home town tonight, which seems like the perfect opportunity. I'm even keen to see Wilson's reunion with the Beach Boys next year if I can. Enjoy your celebations tomorrow!

It seems I was too slow off the mark for the 'sticks anyway. Sorry about your row but then again what's Christmas without a blazing argument?

I see you are expressing an interest in the Tindersticks, if I can actually get tickets should I count you in?

Merry Christmas! I see from your recently played songs that you certainly got into the spirit of things. I'm not going to be around NYE, but if you are around afterwards, I will be. Tindersticks double header in Soho is what it's all about.

"...and we didnt win." So at least some things haven't changed. Is it true what they're saying about Brett's new album: a return to the dizzying highs of Coming Up?

I'm all right and not very busy (though I do seem to be going to the cinema a ridiculous amount lately). Will you have the PhD done by mid-November? And do you actually like that Video Games song?

How was your evening with Patrick Jones? Did you give him a grilling over who played the drums on Generation Terrorist?

Sadly, I didn't quite make it back in time and, in fact, I felt pretty awful all day. Turns out that I may be getting old (or out of practice). Still, it was good to see you guys.

I'm not so sure about the new Emmy album; perhaps I need to let it grow a bit though, as I have only heard it a couple of times. I think my main problem with the album (relative to the last one) is that her main selling point for me is her lyrics, which seem to get lost a bit at times (along with her voice) amongst all the instruments. She seemed more pronounced (or maybe less cluttered) on the first album?

Thanks for the link. it's a real shame you can't make it tonight but I hope your book tour launch thing goes well. I'm sure there'll be other opportunities to see Emmy. She seems to play fairly often and quite regularly in quite interesting places. I like your piece in the new Review (though I am a sucker for a long sentance), but I see the photography's still there! x

The 'Sticks were pretty damn good (and quite a novelty for the weekend being a largely guitar/vocal band). However, I did leave with that nagging feeling that a certain song was missing from their set; but I put that down to me leaving before the one song/three hour encore. Cricket-wise, things aren't looking too hot for my beloved Baggy Greens , are they?

Well, I've done my research, and it looks like it is a 17 hour round trip from here to there. Which means I could come and visit you at about 5pm on a Saturday evening, and leave about 1pm the following day - on the only bus!.Unless of course Ben has any plans to come down and I could get a lift with him? How are you fixed for November? I could probably do either the first or last weekend. Things are pretty good with me. Nice was nice, though it could have done with being a little warmer. How are things in the world of John: blood, sex and debauchery in the Caredigion hills?

I saw that Norah Jones was on the album a couple of days ago and knew immediately that I didn't want to ever hear it - this performance of a new song just reinforces that desire (even, oddly enough, with ?uestlove from the Roots on drums) http://pitchfork.com/news/40235-watch-belle-and-sebastian-perform-on-jimmy-fallon-with-uestlove-from-the-roots/ . I never understood your sufjan antipathy so it's pleasing to hear that you've come round at last - the two new records make an extraordinary pair. Loving the hills and shit then? Things good here, except for those motherfucking builders.

I have somehow managed to get myself roped in to attending a reading/Q&A thing with BEE. I've been thinking long and hard, but I can not come up with anything that could be worse. I do appear to have been digging the Great a bit of late.
