Yup. I didn't realise it was such a cult! I figured it was just a way to listen to music at work. Hmmm, think I'll pilfer your library.

Well, Kansai Calling and indeed all the concert schedules are on the block. I'm rusty at doing interviews and features, but that looks like the way things are headed at JZ. No complaints though, really; KC was certainly not the most efficient way to find out what's going on...:) Otherwise, nothing of note, I guess.

Oh come on, you chaps clearly know your way around a string or two. Unless your point is that you create the artifice of not knowing while actually being very good. Which is the opposite of naive, surely? Calculating? Not that I'm judging or anything.

Hmm. Sounds plausible, I suppose. Go on, I'll accept your fabrication.

Yes indeed - and I had a quick squizz at The Grizzly Folk too. Very good stuff indeed! I grew up on old English folk, so the cover (is that the right term for traditional music?) of The Wassailing Song was particularly appreciated. Sadly, Dubai's done a bit of a number on me so people singing about ale now sounds incredibly risque. I think I need to get out of here. Just noticed that The Grizzly Folk are on your 'most played' list. Bit self-aggrandising, no?

I've still got the MP3s on my computer at home, so I'll try again later. In the meantime, I think this might be up your street... http://siebethissen.blogspot.com/2009/06/drink-rum-jamaican-soul-jazz-vocalists.html

What, does YouSendIt not work in the Middle East, or were the files just fucked up when you downloaded them?

Er... I sent you the new album. After 10 years in the biz, they've finally landed themselves a major record deal. Haven't seen them live yet, but they're doing a 10th anniversary show at Liquidroom where they're going to play their entire back catalogue (apparently), which I might go to.

Oi, stop spying on me like that - it's just disturbing. Anyway, yes, you were right about TsuShiMaMiRe - they're a lot of fun. I was reviewing the album for the JT, which explains the repeat plays (in spite of myself, I still actually listen to CDs a few times before writing about them).

Sa, I wonder what it might have been? A Nuclear Strike? Tim Vs the Visitant? What name would it be under? That might help narrow the search down...

An audiobook of A Clockwork Orange. Great way to while away the hours on the road. I'm looking forward to even more audiobooks to come... How about yourself big man? BTW Let's Have You sounded great! Glad to hear the Grizzly Folk are still in play...

Thanks! I'm groovin' to the new Sly Mongoose right now myself, Mystic Daddy. Hardly sublime, but an interesting prog-rock take on dub.
