yeah, I used to be obsessive with websites like hiphopdx.com, datpiff, and blogspots but it was up to the point that they have reflected rap industry where it's all about the money so they only focus on website traffic and getting PAID with their side advertisements that they flooded their sites with the wackest stuff i've ever heard cuz there seems to be more rappers than fans out there...so I stopped that because filtering through pages of wack albums and playing every song just to find sparse gems wasn't my thing...so I made playlists of every dope song out there that I've came across thus far and had them on repeat to the point that I don't need to play the track to know how the lyrics go. current situations aren't giving me the fix that i want on my hip hop craving so i'm basically mentally starved since I have high expectations of what hip hop SHOULD be and artists aren't putting out lyrics on production to that caliber.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jensyao

Brief history, I was a youtube upload titan (with hiphopbrovas, hiphopbrovas2 -- old youtubers know who he was) with like 600 videos up before google decided to buy it and then slowly, my videos started getting banned (like bonecrusher's 10 minute remix of never scared and youngbloodz' 9 minute remix of damn) and so did my channel. I didn't know that getting banned was my ultimate demise (because I was the FIRST few people who did "picture videos" - with the picture only serving the purpose so that the audio could be played on youtube instead of the actual copyrighted music video itself, now everybody's doing it) so I didn't have a second channel for back up until I started uploading Dr. Dre's discography. I was famous for doing blend tapes where I mix all the vocals that have the same beat into one song and people go nuts when they hear it cuz it's like an orgasmic effect where all the artists you like (or else you wouldn't have searched for them) did a collabo together. To make the story short, youtube got frustrated of going through each of my videos (even though I said which verse comes from which songs in the description box - Did I mention I was the FIRST youtuber to post the *self-corrected* lyrics in the descriptions? Damn, I was dedicated) and cherry picking which verses comes from which songs cuz there could be 3+ copyrighted verses in one blend collabo and they could only choose one song to be the headliner for you to buy off itunes or amazon. Some proof, this was mines:

(Yes, my user image on jensyao was Canibus and I put out quality videos of random archive footages on youtube and mixed it in with the verses of the artists I had) This was before people knew how to download youtube videos and I had to record the screen to get what I wanted. Luckily, people were able to figure out how to convert the .FLV file to regular .wma or .mp4 to reupload it to youtube after I got banned. You don't believe me?

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=04AE28C4F48B7B53
Then how come my videos are still in youtube playlists? obviously, you can't play them cuz they're banned but remnants of my youtube channel still remains and only I have the account of the full story of what happened. Canibus actually USED my video on his myspace page. I'm friends with UGK alumni on facebook because I used to upload their songs on my channel. I'm friends with Killer Mike and Nashiem Myrick. Just because you know me, you're 2 degrees of separation away from the guy who Produced for Biggie Smalls and 3 away from famous people like Kobe Bryant and OutKast, damn. Now do you understand what I must have felt like with my youtube inbox blowing up with all these requests and favors?! Shit, Son!

A couple pictures of my first videos that went viral - yeah I was thinking to myself, I made it - not like a career, but a hobby of mixing music that people like. People were asking me for advice/recommendations on music, people were asking me to forward them the mp3 file, people like little league football coaches thanking me that I was able to provide them the clean or instrumental version of the song I had. (I was the FIRST youtuber to post instrumentals of rap/hip hop songs)

I was the humble type: I search the song i was going to put on youtube before uploading it. if it was already there, I favorited it and moved on to my next upload. Well, in a dog eat dog world, people don't follow courtesy on the internet - as you can see, someone posted the same video after I posted and somehow got more views than I did. I knew video descriptions were the key for boolean searches so I ended up putting whole verses in the description for people to find my videos easier. The verse itself was related so you couldn't dock me for "tag-whoring" a video with every key word people search on the internet like some videos do. Plus, i go through the lyrics to see if there were any misspelling or mis-transcribing...things of that nature.

I even went as far as transcribing the lyrics up on the top 10 lyrics-sites on google so the lyrics wouldn't have any errors in the first place.

I didn't know I was going to be banned so I didn't take the screenshot of my channel growing to be the "95th watched channel of all time in all categories" cuz I was waiting for my ranking to be higher -- err, lower. The nail on the ban-hammer was a blend mix of different artists on a Dr. Dre 2001 instrumental.

Jensyao2 was also banned because my IP itself was permanently banned. Luckily for me, I bought a new computer and I made jensyao3 when I thought it was a good time now that youtube had a streamline system of finding copyrighted songs. I remember I had 100 subscribers within 1 week the jensyao3 account was made...but that didn't last long when I uploaded a blend collabo on lil kim's queen bitch instrumental. I think youtube doesn't allow people uploading michael jackson songs at all (even looped beats I made), and rappers on bad boy and aftermath labels - i found that out the hard way.

there's side channels I made dedicated for instrumentals and themes that were also got banned along with the banning of jensyao3. My 6th channel, jensyao4 just does strictly underground blends with the original vocals missing from the track - it was stated that youtube does not allow the original vocals to be on the instrumental when I'm blending it so I guess the original vocals are now "inferred to be there." kinda lame, but at least my channel might survive longer this time around. jensyao4 is dedicated of bringing you the cream of the cream of the cream of the crop. Each post is going to be the shit - that is a guarantee and a promise.

Moral of the story: set trends and never give up cuz people would gravitate towards what you do if you believe in your own work.

There's no such thing as alternative hip hop. ~ Greg Tate

There is no such thing as good hip-hop or bad hip-hop, progressive hip-hop or reactionary hip-hop, politically incorrect hip-hop or hip-hop with a message. It's either hip-hop or it isn't.

Hip-hop is beyond good and evil
Hip-hop is beyond life and death

Hip-hop was dead, but hip-hop reanimated

Hip-hop does not live on YO! MTV Raps

Hip-hop is how you say, "I love you" to a hip-hop junkie

Hip-hop is your password into the cult of hip-hop info-maniacs

You know hip-hop when you see it

You may not see hip-hop before it seizes you

Hip-hop is not what it is today, but what it could be tomorrow

What’s hip-hop today could easily become passé

Some things come to you, some things come at ‘cha, but hip-hop flows right through ya.

Arguing with hip-hop about the nature of hip-hop is like arguing with water about the nature of wetness.

The only reason the graphs look like that is that I have many untagged tracks. Only my recent albums/mixtapes did I bother to add more information in addition to the provided artist, album, and track.
