Quiet and very self-assured, you tend to keep your own council. Pragmatic and practical to a fault, you are not one to worry about the finer points of philosophical discourse. In fact, because you are very much an individualist, you often finds yourself at odds with the established truth or the wishes of the majority. Thoughtful to the extreme, you are often obsessed with perfection and the rules governing your own personal interests. Your world is black and white. You love to work within a logical system, such as language, computer programming, or mathematics. Manipulating a system that can be completely understood is a distinct pleasure to you, because of your confidence in the underlying veracity of your belief system. Because of your appreciation for logic and order, those who speak or think in a sloppy manner are apt to generate more than their share of wrath. Although very amiable, you are not drawn to friendships out of a sense of personal need. You are just as happy by yourself with a good book or puzzle. Because you are so involved with thought, you will on occasion have difficulty dealing with the day-to-day problems of a normal life. musique concrete: i guess this is as far back as you can go without wanting to define what defines electronic music.

trip hop: everything ambienty and jazzy included. only this is reeeeeeeaaaaaalllly slooooooooooowww, with female vocals that don't sing insomuch as they just droll around like they quaffed too many quaaludes.

idm: this is the oddest named genre in the entire world, since it's not easily danceable, it's not certifiably intelligent, and it's arguable as to whether it constitutes as actual music.

downbeat: stuff that's not cool cat daddy-o or saxaphoney enough for acid jazz, yet not drearily drolling enough (nor from bristol) to be trip hop.

acid jazz: this kind of music is best meant for late-night coffee houses and alternative culture eateries where the waitresses are all short-haired lesbians, the coffee comes in tall glasses, and there's a small smokey stage where a crowd of intellectuals wearing dark-brimmed glasses are listening to some guy in a turtle neck reciting crappy poetry like a bunch of pretentious post-ginsbergian beatnicks.

goa trance: goa would be the best genre ever, if it weren't for the fucking hippies..

ambient psy: ultimately musicians of all genres are going to figure out that they can make slower, more moody versions of their music, which means that sooner or later there's going to be ambient 2-step here, and ambient hardcore, and ambient nrg, and ambient freestyle, and ambient ambient.

speedcore: it's the music equivalent of holding your breath; that is, if done for long enough, you will pass out.
