40 of my Top 50

This looked like a fun thing to do when i saw it somehwere. So yeah, i nicked this from someone, but i can't remember who, so no credits to me for the great idea.

It's a snapshot of what i've been listening to, and i bet a year from now it'll look totally different, that's cool.

I can tell you it took way longer than i thought it would to compile, but as i said, good clean fun, why not waste a few hours on it, i challenge thee:) Might do it again next year…

1. How did you get into 31? The Cribs
Thru the fact that Johnny Marr joined the band, other than that i can't say they are too impressable.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? Thee Headcoats
Could have been All My Feelings Denied They were of course fronted by the forever uncompromising Billy Childish

3. What's your favorite lyric by 29? RJD2
Without a doubt Making Days Longer

4. What is your favorite album by 49? North Atlantic Oscillation
None, as i haven't heard any.

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Errr, 2, it's quality over quantity though, right:)

6. Favorite song by 50? Wolfmother
California Queen, back to the 70's

7. Is there a song by 4 that makes you sad? In Flagranti
Hehe, no i can't say there is, and that's part of their brilliance.

8. Favorite song by 15? Muse
Undisclosed Desires, a touch of Nine Inch Nails in it.

9. Favorite song by 5? The Cure
Phew, A Strange Day,This Twilight Garden,Inbetween Days, to name three, reflecting different states of mind…

10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? Kings Of Leon
Hell yeah, Spiral Staircase, friday night down the pub:)

11. Favorite album by 40? Richard Hawley
Late Night Final, it's smoky and melancholy.

12. Favorite song by 12? Mylo
Tough one, his quality to quantity ratio is sky high thanks to his extremely sloppy attitude to releasing albums, but at the moment it's Replay.

13. What's a good memory involving 33? Empire Of The Sun
Driving through town late at night with We Are The People blasting on repeat, nights of thunder:)

14. Favorite song by 37? Interpol
Evil, hands down, the energy in that song is incredible.

15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? Doves
Yeah, the indie disco monster that is Pounding!!!

16. How many times have you seen 24 live?
Three way tie at the time of writing between Ian Brown, The Raveonettes and The Killers in my top 50, but sadly haven't seen any of them.

17. What was the first song you heard by 23?
Ahh see above, F.E.A.R., probably Beat City, i remember i dug (still do) the concept of short sharp tunes made up of two chords. Could have been anyone off Hot Fuss

18. Favorite album by 11? Arctic Monkeys
Their most recent effort, Humbug

19. Favorite member of 1? Depeche Mode
The one that got away, Vince Clarke. Probably comes across as a raving snob, but he's a top man:)

Nope.

21. What's a good memory involving 45? Linus Loves
Getting someone i hold dear introduced to him:)

Closer, great english post-punk.

24. Favorite album by 21? The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

25. Favorite song by 18? The Housemartins
Flag Day, still remember getting hold of the 7"

26. First song by 38? Miike Snow
Burial (DJ Mehdi Remix), weird trio…

27. Favorite lyric by 3? Groove Armada
"In the mirror where I brush my teeth at,
There’s three more heads, and they watching me back"
The lyrics of Madder resonates with venom when you find yourself on a monday morning after an all-weekender…

28. Favorite song by 2? New Order
Highly subjective and again it could have been any one of 10 songs, but Vanishing Point is thee shit!!

29. First song you heard of 10? The Drums
I think it was I Felt Stupid, they're consistently interesting though the little i've heard.

30. Favorite song by 8? Editors
Blood. Miserable gits on their first album, a bit like their idols Joy Division really…

31. How many times have you seen 17 live? The Dandy Warhols
Yet again the answer is none, but i've heard about their legendary live shows.

No.
