  • Placebo going mainstream?

    20 avr. 2009, 23h57m

I hear Placebo is going mainstream, but I thought the always have been a pretty mainstream rock band. From Without You I'm Nothing on at least.

    Maybe I'm wrong.
  • Of Course You Asses...

    8 mars 2009, 23h52m

Depends on how long I want my cat to live?! You asshole, of course I want my cat to live as long as she can. Once I get the credit card paid off and cancel the sattelite, I will switch to a more quality pet food. Until then, I will have to stick with Purina One which should last me until about June or July judging by my supply.

In music news. I've only been listening to Girls Aloud and Spring Awakening for the most part. Good for me.

Who knew Bill O'Reilly had such a potty mouth?

Looks like he has more in common with Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ludacris than he'd care to admit.
  • Finally Made It

    6 avr. 2008, 22h35m

I finally reached the good old last.fm milestone of 100,000 tracks scrobbled after a little over three years. Cut You In by Jerry Cantrell was the track according to the counter.
  • what?

    19 oct. 2007, 18h31m

I recently bought the new PJ Harvey album White Chalk, and was baffled by it. When it arrived in the mail, I thought CD Universe had made a mistake and sent me an empty bubble mailer. I opened and found a slip of cardboard with a slightly smaller slip of cardboard with a CD inside. How strange.

I know they're using cardboard CD things more than jewels, Kanye West's new album came in an elaborate piece of cardboard (which is already wearing out, and I only took out and listened to the CD twice), but why is the question. Is it to save money, or because people put all their music on those iPod things and throw aside the physical albums.

I miss jewels, they're easier to store and didn't wear out in two seconds.
  • Total Brain Diarrhea

    7 mars 2007, 16h14m

Seriously, this song is worse than a standard issue brain fart.

Some choice lyrics to Gwen Stefani's masterpiece Breaking Up:

You know, you know, you want to call me back
You know, you know, you want to call me back
You know, you know, you want to call me back
    Ohh
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?

Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?

Why does it have to get so complicated?
    Acting so cold, refrigerated
You've got your voicemail on I'm so frustrated, yeah
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?

I hate it when the signal drops on my cell phone
i'm just trying to talk but my bars are all gone

Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think you're cutting out
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Hold up I think I'm losing you
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?
Tell me can you hear me now?

    Simply embarrassing.
  • Finally!

    6 mars 2007, 18h05m

I finally bought the Mary's Danish album There Goes the Wondertruck... Unfortunatley, I got it for $9.00, but I guess it's worth as much as I'm willing to pay for it. :/
  • Huh - A Musing About a Pop Girl Group

    15 fév. 2007, 3h25m

That Biology song by Girls Aloud is pretty good. Why aren't they known in the US? If Hilary Duff can go Platinum here, why can't Girls Aloud have one hit?

  • A Quick (Crappy) Album Review

    28 jan. 2007, 23h07m

Katharine McPhee's debut album isn't bad -- that doesn't mean it's good either. Kat's album is filled with the typical pop-r&b schlock that currently fills the radio airwaves along with light pop-rock crap (Daughtry), and all the other mediocre, pop-hybrid genres.

On the album, Kat's voice is pleasant, aided by whatever programs that make average singers sound okay. On Home, her voice is down right soothing. On Idol, she often sounded like a screechy, er, cat in heat when she was made to sing songs far out of her range.

I will say her handlers did a good job of choosing songs that suited her paper thin vocals, it's just too bad those songs are so forgetable. Katharine McPhee should be singing jazzy, torch song type stuff, not typical, boring crap that you would expect a Brooke Hogan would sing. Perhaps that will happen once she gets away from the AI/19 Entertainment machine.
