Cadillac Records

My Anthology of Chess Records' music is still one of my preferred albums (if a 13 CD boxset can be called an 'album'). I lately watched the movie Cadillac Records. It's Chess Records' story featuring great music of Chuck Berry, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, the great songwriter Willie Dixon ("The blues is the roots; everything else is the fruits." - Willie Dixon) and the lovely Beyoncé as Etta James. Well, none of the actors might get an Oscar for that but it's just fun to get the story told and to listen to the awesome music.

I compiled a playlist of the genuine versions of the songs featured on the soundtrack:

  1. I'm a Man - Bo Diddley
  2. Country Blues - Muddy Waters
  3. I Can't Be Satisfied - Muddy Waters
  4. Forty Days And Forty Nights - Muddy Waters
  5. Juke - Little Walter & His Nightcats
  6. (I'm Your) Hoochie Coochie Man - Muddy Waters
  7. My Babe - Little Walter
  8. Smokestack Lightnin' - Howlin' Wolf
  9. Maybellene - Chuck Berry
  10. Nadine - Chuck Berry
  11. No Particular Place to Go - Chuck Berry
  12. Promised Land - Chuck Berry
  13. Surfin' USA - The Beach Boys
  14. All I Could Do Was Cry - Etta James
  15. Trust in Me - Etta James
  16. At Last - Etta James
  17. I'd Rather Go Blind - Etta James
  18. Last Night - Little Walter
  19. Once In A Lifetime - Beyoncé
  20. Evolution Of A Man - Q-Tip Feat. Al Kapone

Just saw the movie last week. From what I've read it was pretty inaccurate but I still enjoyed it.

It's a movie about music, a good movie about music. :)
