But, yeah. I can dig it. They can't do too much wrong in my eyes either. They gotta do what they gotta do to move forward. I'm sure I'll get into it. I'll just have to listen some more. I've had plenty of albums grow on me. I've only gotten to listen to it once, and I missed the build up to it. I've been out of all electronic contact with the outside world for three months. It was a killer without music, yo!
Oh, no! It's a trap!
But, in all seriousness ...
I've tried my best to like it, but overall I'm not too impressed with it. There are a few, good songs on it, but I feel like it's a lot of ambient music with inaudible vocals. Oracular Spectacular was very good, and BLEW my mind. Hopefully it will grow on me. And, who knows! Maybe my taste of music isn't very refined.
You think so? I've just been trying to diversify lately. The 60's and 70's are like a gold mine of transcendent, powerful music... makes me think I was born in the wrong decade, you know? But then I realize we have the luxury of hearing it all--and on demand--so it ain't that bad. =)
Hey, I really love "Sell Out" too! the most amazing song, in my opinion, must be "Rael", parts 1 and 2. That, along with "A Quick One, while he's away", were the first steps to write a rock opera by Pete Townshend, so they're part of rock history. What do you think about "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia"?
My favorite Who track... It's really hard to choose one, but I'll pick "Sea and Sand" or "Too Much of Anything". By the way, nice songs you chose, "Sell Out" is really epic! Have you listened to "Glow Girl"? It's fantastic!
