So, about 3 weeks ago I finally decided to buy an iPod after my car stereo stopped playing CDs. Getting one had never been on my list of priorities because I always thought that CDs had already ruined music enough by making it convenient to skip tracks. The idea of being able to make playlists and carry every band and every song I've ever enjoyed around in my pocket always seemed like an unnecessary luxury to me. Especially since my car had a 12 CD changer built in and I buy music a lot anyway.
Now that I have one, I feel like I have seriously underestimated the value and potential of this technology. Now I know how people who've gone to prison for ten years feel when they go look at videogame displays in department stores.
