For starters, I'm a tiny light. A spirit having a human experience. A player in the game of life. A drop of water in a vast ocean. A word on the page of a never-ending story. A synapse in the mind of some great and powerful being. I am an enigma. Infinitesimally small and unfathomably huge. A miracle. A creature full of love, capable of anything, and blessed with life's most beautiful gift: creation. A soul spiraling out towards perfection. A goddess-in-training. In other words, I am that I am.

But enough of that.

I'm 19, mixed race but for simplicity's sake I'm Black and Haitian. A Brooklyn baby exiled to Florida at age 11 for slower living and beautiful weather. I'm a Pisces--born in the year of the monkey--and if you follow astrology or ever looked at a horoscope I promise you that's my exact personality. A dancer at heart. Started when I was 4 at Alvin Ailey and over the course of 8 years I learned Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Hip-hop, West African, and Flamenco...but that dream was deferred. Now I just shake my ass at house parties. Choir geek through high school, so I kinda sing. A writer in the making. Love to read, been writing poetry since grade school and my essays are the shit. Always loved different languages and different cultures. Should be tri-lingual by now, but I'm lazy. My newest obsession is Brazil. I loooooveee Portuguese, Brazilian music, Brazilian people. I want to go so badly! Never been outside the US, or at least not that I can remember, but I'm dying to travel. Semi-political, I care about social change and pay attention to the news, listen to public radio sometimes and get into pseudo-arguments with my friends, plus I love Colbert and Jon Stewart. But overall politics is fucking depressing. Get tired of it quickly. Pacifist, with a lioness spirit. Love movies, any kind. I'm teaching myself to play acoustic guitar and I suck, but I love it. I've had two psychotic breaks, "brief psychosis" is what they called it, and long periods of depression afterwards. Scariest and most interesting times of my life. Reserved around most people but an extrovert with people I connect to. A listener, thinker, kinda secretive. I talk really fast and mumble a lot. And I'm into New Age, Eastern philosophy, and Egyptian philosophy. But my religion is art.
