10. Mos Def - The Ecstatic
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/9.jpg
I'm not so much into hip hop (improved through the last year, though), but I was addicted to The Ecstatic for quite a long time. Life in Marvelous Times is an absolute highlight for me.

9. The Antlers - Hospice
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/10.jpg
Every time I want to listen to The Antlers I think to myself: ok, I'm not gonna cry, it's all natural, these things just HAPPEN. Too bad it doesn't work at all.

8. Mount Eerie - Wind's Poem
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/8.jpg
Maybe such a high position is a bit over the top, but it's definitely a grower. Rather hard to listen to, but worth your attention. Phil's voice in Between Two Mysteries <3 (and Twin Peaks references!)

7. The Field - Yesterday and Today
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/7.jpg
You should've seen me listening to Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime for the first time. Album is sheer magic.

6. Animal Collective - Fall Be Kind
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/6.jpg
I'm sick from too much reading
Jealous of Noah's dreaming
Can't help my brain from thinking

Even if it was the only thing at this ep, it would be ridiculously high on my list anyway. But there's actually a lot more!

5. Atlas Sound - Logos
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/5.jpg
I was a bit dissapointed with Let the Blind Lead… (anyway, the title was nice and I still think I should give that album another try, the problem is I keep forgetting about this). Logos is an excellent set of dreamy songs. Are you saying it's a background music? Oh well, come on… Or maybe I'm just stupid and close minded ignorant, I guees I don't care.
Otherwise, it features Letitia!

4. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/4.jpg
Don't expect me to be objective. People, it's Phoenix, probably my favourite French band, my fair-haired boys! And they did extremelly well on WAP. They're fabulous, it's official.
And isn't this fanvid brilliant? Better than 90% of official music videos I've ever seen.

3. The Flaming Lips - Embryonic
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/3.jpg
I'm not sure I fully get it. Damn good album though.

2. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/2.jpg
Four extremelly talented musicians together and that's what we've got: beautiful, lacking low points record. Equivalent of last year's Fleet Foxes, but I tend to believe Veckatimest is better.

1. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/panitrener/aoty2009/1.jpg
It's amazing how this album is so revolutionary without actually being revolutionary.
/Btw, love my friends' reaction to this cover (it's MOVING!!!11! o_____O, something like that)/

Well, that's it. Sorry for my lame English. Hopefully 2010 carries an awful lot of terribly good music.
Cheers and have a great New Year's Eve!
