Where did I say that? I honestly don't remember, haha. It's just a sort of jokey old-fashioned way of saying I'm female but I'm not really sure why I felt the need to specify.

-- Kennst du Diabulus In Musica? :)

Ah, thanks for the information. Glad I was, in some way at least, correct all those years ago about that Therion song. Great music taste by the way. A great amount of symphonic and progressive music.

Lol, yes. :D And I definitely see it, too. Also, Floor Jansen is probably most like Xena herself. :)

Oh sorry, I only just saw your last shout. Ummmmm... I'm gonna go with Roy Khan as Ares. Though, outside of Xena casting, he seems a little more like a Hades (He's not at all like the Hades in Xena, though!). March of Mephisto. ;P

Oh wow, I had not seen that quote before. It would have been so cool if Lucy Lawless had actually pursued an opera career! But really, that is kind of a lame excuse. She could have just said that she preferred acting. Or whatever. Though I know a lot of operatic voice students and they do have to put a lot of hours into their lessons... that is true.

HI ! Hope you're well! I write because recently launched with my band ETERNUS from Chile, our first album "Labyrinth of Reason". We play symphonic metal, with influences of power metal, etc., and with influences from bands like Nightwish, Sabaton, Epica, etc.. We differ from other bands of the genre, because we have an opera singer man, who gives a special and different sound. Hopefully you can hear us on our official Facebook www.facebook.com/eternusband (Grant us one Like please, u can download free our album). Sample song: "Nemesis of the Gods" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydKOXy1TlTM ! Thank you very much for reading this, we are just beginning and need maximum support, every aid helps very much. Have a nice day, greetings from Chile.

„Do not send me friend requests if you have never even spoken to me!“ – Super-Regel.

wasn't meaning to be a downer, or patronizing or anything. and in a certain respect i agree, it's more personality-based than just "what were you exposed to earliest". it's a tremendously complex topic that i oversimplified. agreed with you on drumming. i love death metal but can't stand the more recent stuff because the triggered drums totally lack impact. i think for me, what i want in music is something that's in some way overwhelming - i notice that i gravitate a lot towards fast, detailed genres like breakcore or free jazz or death metal. idk why that is. i have been trying to get into avant-prog though so i'll give those gourishankar guys a try.

re:changing listening habits - it becomes progressively more difficult as we get older i think, because our memory capacity for learning the conventions of new musical forms decreases. unless you've learned perfect analytical objectivity it's hard to, later in your life, be able to listen to and appreciate all the music you are faced with. sometimes i worry about this myself - i think that at some point i will believe that new music being produced is just not as compelling as what was being made when i was an avid listener. it's totally understandable, then, that you can't appreciate avant-prog or musique concrete or odd genres like that. i think what matters is being able to justify what you enjoy in the music you listen to and to delve deep into your area of interest.

have not studied any languages (aside from japanese which i'm decent at and hebrew and finnish which i know a bit of). there's sufficient documentation for navajo but i look at the gender system for objects and the phonetics and i just want to quit 5 minutes in. the immunology is because i used to have an obsessive fear of becoming sick and i responded by studying up. i don't mind the inbox spam, it's good to talk to people online. and as for the mocking, it seems internet music culture is full of people who are obsessed with seeming better than others, and they'll shit on someone for enjoying linkin park or whatever. i prefer to spread a bit of positivity.

À propos de moi

Do not send me friend requests if you have never even spoken to me!

How would you react if in real life, random people with sock masks over their heads kept approaching you, silently handing you a slip of paper with a link to a last.fm profile and the line "WANNA BE MY FRIEND??" just because they saw you wearing a band shirt?
