Vannak visszatérők tavalyhoz képest: a Hidden Orchestra Flight EP-je idén már az Archipelago LP-ként, Long Arm az általam istenített The Branches lemezének többféle remixszel bővített deluxe változataként nevezett.

Idén sokat futottam, legtöbbször hosszútávon. Több időt eltöltöttem egy-egy albummal, mint amennyit máskor rászántam volna, igazibb figyelemmel, cserébe elsimították a holtpontokat.
Bizarr módon így lett az egyik legfontosabb album az új Cinematic Orchestra. Van ebben valami zavarbaejtő és szép, amit nem kísérelek meg megmagyarázni: klasszikus zenére futni. Ha már felvetted a saját tempód, jobban húz, mint az alternatív rock vagy egy pergős trip-hop-szám. Nem diktálnak ütemet a dobok, nem hajt a ritmus sem, de csakúgy, mint sok karjával a szembeszél, körülömlenek a zongora és hegedű quartet elnyújtott hangjai.
A Cinematic Orchestra jelszava már a névválasztás pillanatától kezdve egyértelmű volt és Stanley Kubrick fogalmazta meg: a jó film inkább zene, mint történet. Kísérletezéseik során sikerült megtalálniuk a vizuális és hallott közötti kapcsolatot, ezt bizonyítja, hogy az igazság visszafejtve is igazság marad, észrevehető a filmekhez írt zenék történetszerűsége. (Ebben az esetben mind a hét darabot egy-egy avantgarde kisfilmhez kompontálták.)
Ezt szerettem meg benne. Bár másfajta hallgatói hozzáállást igényel, és a sok közreműködő miatt sem nevezhetjük hagyományos Cinematic Orchestra-albumnak (Fontella Bass hangja nélkül már nem is biztos, hogy lesz ilyen. Isten nyugosztalja, hiányozni fog). Aki viszont képes benne elmélyülni, annak egy időmérős városligeti futás is filmélménnyé válik.
