Is everything alright? I've had 100% less blogarhythms than I'm accustomed to..and my days aren't better off for it. In fact...okayplayer has lost many hits due to this...as I'm not checking the page every morning waiting in anxious anticipation for the post. I hope all is well.

I'm not gonna front, I'm not vinyl elite, and I have never been that interested in the punk sound. I'm a transplanted Detroit'er, raised by Detroit'ers, and the MC5 album I found is a reissue. I am intrigued by their politics, which is how I discovered them (for the first time, this year). I stumbled across Wayne Kramer via my respect of Tom Morello and dugg into his past. Funny I learn that my father had been to MC5 concerts "back in the day", but never mentioned them to me when he was schooling me on music. All the sudden I sound like I'm defending my purchase, when I just like the sound of vinyl, and the art of true self expression. I love your writing, please keep it up.

I was just catching up on blogarhythms, and you posted that pic of the great MC5 debut album 2 days before I found (and purchased) a copy on vinyl at a record store in Denver. Weird.

À propos de moi

I like Timberland boots, baggy jeans, polos, dreadlocks and army hats circa 1994. I also like screen-print tees, zip-front hoodies, fine knitwear, hand crocheted accessories and sneakers (preferably Adidas or Nike SB). I don't own a single pair of "skinny" pants and I've never done blow. I blog about music and other things on Imageyenation, an underground, urban and alternative culture website I founded and run. I co-host a (not-quite) bi-weekly podcast called Urban Alternatives where I play all different types of music which is available for download every other Thursday morning or via RSS subscription if you want it automatically. I own a lot of records, compact discs and digital music files. I started DJing when I was 11 years old. I'm an old man now. I have grey hair and a bad back. I have a beard. I hate drugs, alcohol, pork and shellfish. I love records, books, movies, periodicals, Diet Dr Pepper, juice, spring water, junk food, my iPod, my Zune, my digicam, bass, dark rooms with big sound, cool/crisp temperatures, showers, smelling good, going for walks, making out, cuddling and naked girls.
