    weird, i've been listening to a ton of cream lately too. mostly on lp and cassette though. i feel like i've been ignoring them since 8th or 9th grade when they are, indeed, the shit.

    oh I'd only heard his solo records, but they're seriously phenomenal. 'Something/Anything?' is one of the best trips through rock and pop you could ask for; he did the first three sides all by himself on an 8-track, and the last sides got a killer band behind him, done live. But 'A Wizard, A True Star' is a prog-rock-pop-protoelectronic monster, somehow both experimental and commercial and you'll take right to it (I hope!) Both records are just all kinds of 70s pastiche, and there's also some great humor in places. Exceptional shit, I'd say. He also produced a record for this band XTC, 'Skylarking' - its like the most classic pop idioms applied to a feel thats part post-punk, part new wave, part prog, all psychedelic and really good for the 80's.
