Hi, I have to say I've not heard many people say they envy our type of weather!! Most of us here would be happy with just a few days of Greek sunshine! Thanks for the recommendations, I've listened to the new Sufjan Stevens album, only once though. Sharon Van Etten's new album is on my albums to listen to list. I've been listening to Tobias Jesso Jr's album 'Goon', which I'm really getting into at the moment. Also the new Bryan Ferry album (Avonmore) and I've really being getting into Sinead O'Connor, new albums and the back catalogue. One last recommendation, I'm listening to an album called Giants and it's by an artist called Andreya Triana, from what I've heard so far, this could be getting many plays!

Hi, not really been up to much this past week, only work, and its a bank holiday weekend here and the weather is pretty dismal (typical bank holiday weather in England!) lot's of rain and sea mist, so I don't think I'll be going out much, maybe to the local pub ;) I see you've been listening to some pretty good music lately, any recommendations?

Γκάλοπ makes for quite an interesting listen. But, because it's spoken work rather than singing, one cannot help but wonder what it's all about. If I understood Greek, i'm sure the whole listening experience would go up to another level.

I was sure that would be some kind of a misunderstanding just because i listened to Lena Platonos. :-DDDD I listen to all kinds of music. For instance, Regina is one of my favourite bands and they're Finnish and sing in Finnish, and I don't speak Finnish either. :-)

Easter's not such a big event here not in a religious way but it is a time when people go on holiday for the 'Easter holidays'. I'm 40 years old (an old man) and I didn't start backpacking until I was 27 and did most of the 41 countries by the time I was 36. Then I had to "grow up"!!! I still love visiting different countries and I'm hoping to do a 4 week trip around Japan and a 4-6 week trip across the USA. I've never been to Samothraki, it sounds nice and I a love a good waterfall! I'm actually off to India tomorrow for 3 weeks, not backpacking though, just a beach holiday, sun, sea, sand, beer and curry, heaven!!!!!

Life's quiet here at the moment, not many tourists. The next public holiday at Easter will be busy and again during the school summer holidays when the number of people here swells massively. The county of Cornwall has a local population of 500,000. During the summer holidays it rises to 5 million. People come for surfing and scenery mainly. When I say it's like living in a Jaws film, I mean being a small harbour with fishing vessels, having a 'summer season', everybody knowing each other, the main industry being fishing and tourism. I've done a bit of backpacking (41 countries) but not so much anymore, I have a mortgage to pay!! You say you love camping, do you camp often and where do you go? I've been to Athens 5 times, I think it's changed a lot between my first time and last time (2 years ago). Have you noticed a change?

Living in a harbour town is pretty nice, I have a sea view too so that is always a bonus. You said you think of films when you think of harbour towns, I sometimes think its a bit like being in a Jaws film living here but without the killer shark!! I managed to stay in Zakynthos because I was offered a job as a waiter in a restaurant during the summer season, during the 1st year I came back to the UK for a few months, during the 2nd year I went to Thailand to backpack for 3 months, so I wasn't in Zakynthos for the whole 2 years. As for Milos, It's a pretty nice island, not many tourists, pretty quiet compared to other Greek islands in the summer. I've not been to Mykonos but I've been to Santorini, which from what I can remember was really expensive if you're a backpacker!

Hi, I'm living in Cornwall (southwest England), in a harbour town called Looe. I've been to Greece many times. The first time was to island hop for 3 months in 2001 and ended up staying for 2 years on Zakynthos. I'll be going back this year to Milos.
