i wish there was winter here..

i went to school this afternoon to find everyone wearing sweaters and jackets and scrafs. its like 70 degrees! what a bunch of weenies. i mustve looked odd in a tshirt, skirt and sandals..

chage & aska - wtf they have a new album?? im so oblivous, i didnt even realise they were still making stuff, i thought the singles id been seeing around were re-releases. go me. so are they supposed to be tagged as 'chage and aska' now, cause thats how ive been seeing it? i think ill stick with the old way. the album is really good too.

THE イナズマ戦隊 - i dont know how i feel about thier new album. its..alright i guess. its kinda odd, or maybe just different. it doesnt feel as fun as some of thier previous stuff, like kinda forced. i think itll grow on me with a few listens tho. looks like ive got them tagged wrong tho..bummer.

experimental dental school - ever catch yourself listening to something and wondering why your listening to it? theyre strange and kinda useless, but interesting and entertaining at the same time. too bad theyre not playing with deerhoof for the orlando show.

美川憲一 - i got an audio rip of さそり座の女2006 and i cant stop listening to it!

stance punks - the new album is good! and that is all!

shugo tokumaru - his music is just geniunely charming.

友川かずき - i got three more albums from him! YES! but i can only find a japanese tracklist for one of them..can someone point me in the direction of tracklists for kenshin no ichigeki and itsuka toku o miteita? please?

湯川潮音 - got two more albums from her. shes got a new mini-album coming out in a few days but im broke. shes one of my favourite female vocalists tho, and the two albums i got were her first ones. her vocal style has changed so much shes almost unrecognizable in them. tide&echo is partically starnge. its all in english, very minimalistic and a cappella in a lot of areas, and has a lot of uplifting and christian content. im enjoying both of them tho, all her stuff as a light charm.

bonobos - i had no intention of liking this group, but i ended up liking them a lot. they sound a lot like フィッシュマンズ tho. im finding more and more that theres a lot of reggae, dub, ska, and even techno that i can handle and even really like. just gotta find the right stuff.

deerhoof - picked up my tickets to the show today. this will be the first show ive gone to since like the fall of the roman empire. its been so long since ive bought tickets to something i didnt realise that theres a fee of way too much money attached. $3 for a $12 ticket is kinda ridiculous, but whatever. im looking foward too this, hopefully it doesnt get cancelled or i dont get lost on the way or something.

so ive been continuing my very very slow trip down memory lane. i had my week of dave matthews band, and now im done with that. ive moved onto manic street preachers, but the only album i could find was everything must go. everything else is MIA, with the majority of my old CDs. surprisingly i still liked it tho. and i still like tori amos's from the choirgirl hotel, but its the only album i ever had from her, and it shall probably be the only one i ever will. the weird thing ive noticed is how different my listening habits were back then. a lot of time id go through the albums and find the songs that appealed to me immediately and never give the other stuff much chance. most albums i only had about 5 songs i liked. i was a really bad music fan back then, but i really didnt like a lot of stuff. if i found an artist who can make a whole album i liked, they were instantly one of my favs. i was also far too narrowminded. i only like certain types of music and wouldnt try anything else, and with the exception of maybe 10 artists, everything had male vocals. but know i chew through music like a shredder, i want almost almost anything and everything i can get my hands on (except vk, metal, and boy bands..im not perfect). i do still prefer male vocalists, but for the first year or two that i started listening to japanese music it was all female vocalists. and at this point i cant underdstand the person i was before. is it just maturing? or is it that american music sucks? i dont think its ethier (altho i can barely even stand the stuff in the american mainstream), i think its just exposing yourself to different stuff and not being an ass about 'i only like this and i only try this'. simple enough.

cdjapan shipped out my replacement package a few days ago, too bad i wont get it til i see my mum again. i really want to order 勝手にしやがれ's swinsh town now that its doesnt have the 2-4 week shipping time anymore, and i want 浜田省吾's ROAD OUT "MOVIE" as well cause its only like $25. as for upcoming releases, im obviously anticipating 氣志團's new album, altho im kinda scared for it as well. im looking forward to new albums from mr.children and キャプテンストライダム as well, march is looking to be an expensive month for me. im curious for the new 井上陽水奥田民生 album, but i dont plan to buy it. 徳永英明 has a new dvd coming out, the regular edition is 7600yen and the super duper edition is 14000yen. thats freaking gross..but i still want it. i havent been getting any hours at work so maybe someday…
