    It's not for the purposes of discussion, although I don't mind people messaging me back with replies. From personal experience, it's just very easy to miss these sorts of announcements, and I want to notify people who're interested. Plus, few people are generally motivated to go on the forums, so including the link in the post helps.

    As I said to the other guy, I use the Melbourne group's message all members function to send out occasional news updates... and it's all or none, so I like to think that most people appreciate them, judging by the discussion they create. Leave the group if you want...
