It's funny...my dad is a huge fan of Ingmar Bergman and I remember watching all of his movies (including the 7th seal) since I was just a child :-) I have been through several phases with music. I started out listening to a lot of classical music, but then went through the usual 2 years of hormonal teenage silliness when I was listening to basically anything, including boy bands :-) By age 18 I had gone back to sanity :-) I feel there is still a lot that I do not know. I know just a handful of songs by David Sylvian, but i liked the ones I heard; so i have to listen to other material by him. Last.fm is a great place indeed, I mainly listen to music here, as if I turn on the radio I just cringe in horror: all they play is hip-hop or R&B, or the most boring rock bands I have ever heard. And yes, I still buy CDs too! Goodness, mp3s are only for a few dance tracks I put on my Ipod when I go to the gym :-) if i really like something I need to own the physical CD. V

actually I am not sure I added Scott Walker to my favourite artists on last.fm yet. I watched a documentary on him and I was hypnotized by his vision. I think his music is incredible. I try to keep an eye on innovative artists who have "something to say". most music I hear around nowadays just bores me really :-) I am not saying you always have to try to break boundaries...even a pop song can be great in its own right. There is just very little GOOD music released nowadays, in my opinion :-( x Val

Hi Gerrit, yes, we seem to be very compatible musically, isn't it :-) I didn't know Lisa Gerrard was releasing a deluxe edition! She is an amazing artist. Jonsi's solo work is my last obsession :-) I have always been a fan of Sigur Ros, but his last material is equally beautiful, although maybe some people will complain it is more commercial. Personally I think the songs are great and the production retains a good edge. and somehow it's good he has a slightly different sound as a solo artist. I cannot wait to see him live in May, I just pray I can make it, as May is a really busy month for me. I have been to Baltimore in 2004, in the summer. Nice memories. It was a lovely trip. I think I want to go to Iceland now, he he :-) Happy Easter :-) xx Val
